Read something the other day where he was the lowest rated starting LB in the NFL. However he is an NFL starter.

A lot of what we are seeing as poor coverage is directly related to Steele. I wouldn't put much thought into it.

When TE's beat your safeties deep, your DC is not doing a good job.

I'm just talking about his speed. He has great explosion into the hole in running lanes and great football instincts, so does Jones for that matter, but he just isn't fast which is where his cover issues come into play, but in the NFL he should have some fast guys on the outside to make up for that. Personally I think he is 3rd rounder now maybe 4th. He ain't getting no faster, but again in the NFL that can be masked.

Beckwith is good against the run, but not exceptional. His cover skills need a LOT of work. I'd take Minter over Beckwith at this stage all day, everyday. Better in every facet of the game.

I agree here. I thought White played very well up until the injury. He was dominated by Treadwell but I think that was a symptom of the entire team being ill prepared. In man coverage White was a shut down CB until the injury and he was shut down against aTm.

Everything centers around JJ 2.0... More ineptness in play calling, scheme, and the QB position.

I am telling you Minter had a far better Dline and secondary. Chavis was far better at picking up coverages than Steele is.

Also, people expect LB's to cover like CB's. It doesn't happen like that, not even in the NFL. Especially in man.

I think some of you see what you want to see. A WR catching a TD pass is not domination. PP7 gave up TD's.

Except he isn't covering wide receivers, he's covering tight ends and tailbacks.

No doubt Minter had a better DL to help keep OLman off of him, but he I think he is a better player. He was straight up a dominating, tackling machine. Minter is a better tackler than Beckwith, he wraps and drives, and takes better angles. I don't expect a LB to cover like a DB, but they still have to cover effectively.

I know TD's are not always on the CB, sometimes it is a schematic issue.

I think we need to make sure that we aren't knocking Beckwith. The dude is a great linebacker, but he still has work to do. That being said I still think he makes a solid pro and will go in the 3rd round.
