It's because their coach is not half the genius the media has made him out to be, either. I wouldn't expect their offense to get any more creative any time soon. Pryor has the potential to be an exciting player, but he may very well be largely wasted in Tressel-land.

If that were the case, ESPN/ABC might want to take advantage of that... ABC could make a contract with Southern Cal to show all their home games and ESPN could start doing College Gameday for Southern Cal games more than 1 or 2 times a year.

As for the 65 AP voters, that includes many sportswriters from small-markets all across the country, including the Baton Rouge Advocate -- http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/extern...ball_rankings/voters.php?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME

Ohio State lacks the team speed to complete with the elite. It's that simple.

When I heard Carroll say something along the lines about the PAC 8 or 9 being so tough, I had the misfortune of eating a bowl of Corn flakes...Had to change shirts and get the milk out of my nose shortly thereafter...:hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi:

    I tend to agree here.

Although, USC does get favoratism sometimes, LSU is not peed on by ESPN. Why fans always think this I have no idea. Just because Corso picks LSU's opponent on Gameday, or the announcers fail to mention LSU's name one time while BRIEFLY going over the names of the contenders, does not mean that ESPN does not like LSU. We get plenty of respect nationally, as does the SEC.

Might be so. But they were still beat them 35-3. The pollsters had to take into account that they blew out a top 5 team. THey probably didnt deserve to be in the top 5, but they definately should have been in the top 10 or 15.

USC got exposed and Im glad for it. But they deserved to be at or near the top before this game. They now deserve to be around 13-15 IMHO.

Now...this week...yes. But it took 2 Crystals and a win over Auburn last week to get a little attention. You have to admit that we were nonexistent on ESPN for the 1st few weeks except for a little "Appy State might get another upset" pub.

USC was preseason #3. They blew out a bad Virginia team and suddely,Sanchez is a Heisman candidate and USC is unbeatable. Meanwhile, OSU, #2 preseason, struggles against a horrible Ohio team and then drop to 5setting up the "Game of the Century", despite OSU's consistent failure to compete against elite teams. I honestly thought the Buckeyes were going to give them a tussle but they are just too bad. The media won't acknowlege how bad OSU really is, rather they hype the #5 ranking as showing just how dominant USC is.

LSU, meanwhile, destroys the Appys despite pregame hype that they had a shot, but all that happens is that Appy is relegated to the dustbin and LSU just stays where they are with nary a word from the national media about how LSU just might be a player in 08.

It's not a plot, but it's there. Even now the talk is Penn State, Wisconsin, Georgia, Florida and Oklahoma as being the ones to benefit from USCs fall from grace...and only one of them has a :crystal:.

All good points. I agree that the favoratism is there. THe only thing I have a debate about is that LSU is being done wrong by the national media. Should we get any talk of being a big player after beating the appys of the world. Hell, most on here thought we were in big trouble unless a qb stepped up. The national media felt the same way. Lee stepped up in the 2nd half and the Tigers began to get credit. And LSU is in the talk of benefitting from the USC loss, they were mentioned many times last night during and post game. Just because they didnt mention us one time while briefly going through the names does not mean we are getting done wrong.

thats the point of the matter. if there is one deserving team to be slobbered over this decade it is us. Not anyone else.

who is the premier team in the premier conference lately? US.

took me some time to come around but thats the facts.

we know we are slowly getting recognition but the fact of the matter is its underwhelming in comparison to teams that do not quite deserve it.

all this who is returning bs and who is not is inconsequential because it does not matter when ranking these other barely-ever-done-anything teams in comparison.

its time LSU gets the spotlight the other undeserving teams have garnered.

phuck it, we're on the map because we earned it. something no one else can currently say.

bring on the kneepads and knob-jobs for the purple and gold.

    its long overdue.
