Not to get too far off topic but my wife is a school teacher here in Shreveport and that line of thinking is starting to make it's way south. They had "field day" where they had competitive games (relay races etc.) and EVERYBODY got a ribbon and to top it off EVERYBODY got the same color ribbon so there was no distinction between where the kids placed. How "fun" is that?

    Paranoia.

LSU and Les Miles are on ESPN all the time. ESPN just paid a fortune to broadcast SEC games. CBS too.

Reasons LSU was ranked just outside the Top 5 at the start of 2008:
    - Lost starting QB, other QB with experience kicked off team
    - Lost leading rusher and best receiver
    - Lost highly decorated and feared DT
    - Lost a great Def. Coordinator

    NOT reasons:
    - Team plays in medium-sized Southeastern city
    - Team is not sophisticated (?)
    - Coach is not "flashy" - even though he is well-known for calling trick plays and gambling

you're freakin delusional if you think thats what the pollsters take into account with USC and ND when making their vote. and thats the entire point.

explain to us why USC deserved to be #1 again. oh thats right, lots of 5 stars and the media said so.

Don't cry for USC. They'll beat power house Notre Dame later in the season and bounce rght back to the top of the polls.

Definitely not paranoia, you chalk it up to a few instances, im chalking it up to the last 6 years of college football. Along with the lack of sports journalistic integrity displayed by people at ABC/ESPN.

The sophisticated line was meant as sarcasim. Sorry you didnt get it, however not my fault.

    Reasons:
USC QB had no prior experience either
USC lost their leading receiver as well=Fred Davis
USC lost their highly decorated and feared DT as well.

    come better next time.

Sanchez did have experience filling in for Booty a few games last year. He was also the HS player of the year.

USC ascended to #1 by decimating two teams, one of them in the top 5 with the whole nation watching (this is exactly how LSU picked up votes by killing VT last year). I don't think anyone knew, until last night, that they're kind of soft.

I'm sorry I lacked the sophistication to pick up on your "sarcasim." My bad.

Looking forward to your specific examples of journalistic integrity violations.

You call that experience, he was awful in those few games. We have a QB that was an Elite 11 QB in high school. Still doesnt warrant the hype of Sanchez.

Ohio St, doesnt count in the least to me, after that last 2 seasons, we could argue this point all day, its highly subjective, but the proof is their that Ohio St gets the same hype as USC.

It has nothing to do with your sophistication, maybe the scotch, lol. But seriously you probably took the line wrong. You are plenty sophisticated enough to get what I am saying.

I dont have to post specific examples, if you cant see the bias that has lean USCs way over the last 3 years. Its your eyes and ears that need to be questioned, not your sophistication.

You don't honestly think that Ohio State is any good, do you? They'll be lucky not to lose four more games this year.

No doubt our staff and players deserve that nesting place, certainly it was earned.

Me personally, I like not being #1, I like being overlooked with questions. Seems every time when that happens we take that given opportunity to prove them wrong, then when we geaux for it on 4th and 2, we pass on 1st and 10 midfield, we onside kick in the middle of the game! Unconventional wisdom has a showing when doubt is in place and we possess the depth chart available to implement character and skill which, in the end just shows LSU plays some of the most exciting ball in the country. Let PC have his mind made up and let the media have their darlings, just makes that purple and gold way of things that much more legitimate come game day.

#1…That’s talk for January and I like it that way because it always makes us look at now.

If they get more creative on offense and play Pryor every snap, they can be good - but probably not great. I swear, they play every game as if it were snowing outside.
