Comments about that from their board:

We’re wearing the Whites!! I LOVE it!!
Our white uniforms are the coolest uniforms in sports and I know jesse. will back me up.
Numbers on the helmet are for sissies.

We need to get rid of that swoosh while we’re at it.

    Chill forums......

Hello all, PSU fan here. At this point I couldn't care much less about PSU not playing in a 2010 BCS bowl, I like the matchup and I am excited to watch PSU play LSU. Should be some really good ATHs on the field for both teams, some players with accolades and such, and I hope it makes for a good game.

Don't like seeing both Iowa and tOSU fans here..... :bncry:

Want PSU to get the W.

Correction; PSU laid an egg against one team which resulted in a loss, tOSU. PSU's offense-OLine/STs laid an egg against Iowa which resulted in the other loss.....PSU was winning that game in the 4th Q. even thought Iowa's DLine had abused a young, shuffled (prior to the year), and relatively untested OLine. If it weren't for a Clark INT that was a gift TD for the Iowa offense (1 or 2 plays) and a blocked punt returned for a TD, you'd have lost because of your offense and PSU would have had an ugly win on their hands.

    -------

This is also all incorrect, regardless of what rivals website may say. And not that I feel like I'm breaking news or anything, but there is a significant difference between being a starter and being in the two deep.

    Offense (SRs)

    QB Daryll Clark (prep/RS SR)

    LT Dennis Landolt (RS SR)

RT Ako Poti (JUCO/SR) or RT Nerraw McCormack (JUCO/SR)

TE Andrew Quarless (TR SR) - #2 TE Mickey Shuler (RS SR)

That is four on offense. I don't think Brett Brackett has even started more than one game this year, and it may have been the first game...he has gotten almost no PT and filled a role as an H-Back/slot-flex TE/motion type.

    -------

    Defense (SRs)

DE Jerome Hayes (RS SR) - He just got a starting role these past few games, previous two seasons he suffered consecutive season-ending ACL injuries, one to each knee.

    DT Jared Odrick (RS SR)

Josh Hull (RS SR/former walk on)

Sean Lee (RS SR returning from ACL tear as a TR SR)

Again, four senior starters, these four on defense. If TR SO Michael Mauti from Louisiana :)grin: ) hadn't suffered an ACL tear prior to this season, after having received PT as a TR FR, he'd be starting at MLB over Josh Hull. Dad played for PSU, brother still at PSU (reserve WR)....Michael was a 4* recruit/former US Army AA, etc.....6'2 230 explosive hitter.

    -------

PSU K is also not a senior....

    -------

If you want to look at the # of significant younger players that start, contribute, or serve a backup role for PSU, here you go:

QB Kevin Newsome (early enrollee TR FR)

    RB Stephfon Green (RS SO)

WRs Justin Brown (TR FR), Curtis Drake (TR FR), and Devon Smith (TR FR - PSU's Trindon Holliday - sp?)

TE Andrew Szczerba (RS SO), TE Mark Wedderburn (RS FR)

OL DeOn'Tae Pannell (Iowa's whipping boy - TR SO), OL Matt Stankiewitch (RS FR)

DE Eric Latimore (GS/RS SO), DE Sean Stanley (TR FR)

    DT Devon Still (RS SO)

    CB Stephon Morris (TR FR)

Green (#2 RB), Drake (reserve WR filling in slot/AP role since WR Chaz Powell strained his shoulder against Indiana) Latimore, Stanley, Still, and Morris all see significant game reps....most of the time anyway. YOUNG TEAM in most regards, both eligibility wise and experience/starting; QB (prep/RS SR Clark), RB (RS JR Royster), DT (RS SR Odrick, prep/RS JR Ogbu), LB (RS SR Lee, RS SR Hull, early enrollee/RS JR Bowman) being obvious exceptions.

Exactly, we may have 7 players on our roster who are seniors, who play offensive positions, but hardly any of them actually start.

this will be a good match up, stopping Clark will be no easy task for our defense.

LOL.... we've won this way for pretty much since KF has been at Iowa. You wrap the gifts and we open 'em. After losing so many games against us under KF, one would think you would have figured that out by now. You think we won ugly and we see beauty... funny how that works.

On your second point, all I can say is "What?" Rivals posts the starters (two deeps) off those given them prior to each game by the schools, so...... Hey, I'll grant you that the listed two deep were from your Michigan State game and JoePa may have listed some seniors as it was their last conference game... but you also had seven seniors starting on O when you played Iowa. At the time, we were somewhat worried about that, as we started three that game.
and yes, we understand that other people get to play during the game... thanks for sharing.

    PSU fans

    good job

I wasn't worried about beating down a old slow Big 10 bunch but now I am worried. I remember the 1st meeting and we had a awesome rushing D.

You couldn't score a rushing TD on the Tigers but PSU did it and you guys out played a very good Charlie Mac team.

I couldn't think of any team outside of USC I wanted to play if we missed the BCS bowl than you guys.

Doing my best to be there and the fans that travel to bowls for the Tigers tend to weed out some the nightmare bunch that all schools have.

You will find the famous Tiger tailgater's!!!!

They will offer you some fine fixings if you hang and look hungry!

But we ain't coming all the way to Orlando to lose to a bunch of Yankee's!

So come ready for some real football!

by the way they make fun of my !!!!!!!!! on this board , I can't help myself!

    Geaux Tigers

What are you smoking in Austin, dudley? When has a Les Miles team NOT shown up ready to play in a bowl game?

To all of the PSU fans, I'm really excited about the match-up and the opportunity to geaux against one of the greatest coaches ever in college football. Stick around and discuss!

Hawker, my point was a rather simple one RE: PSU-Iowa this year, the PSU D showed up. I realize this is how Iowa wins games, has won games, and will probably continue to win games under Ferentz....but the fact remains that without the PSU offense hurting the PSU D and a STs blunder for TD - Iowa probably doesn't score enough to beat PSU....probably ends as a 10-8 game. HAH.

No problem, PSU, you have a historic program... so if I'm bantering on, take it as respect. If Iowa expects national attention year in and year out, the path is always through PSU, OSU, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

I was at the PSU/Iowa game... in the rain.... you've got great fans. Hey, I also went to a Bama/Auburn game a few years ago. The different between Penn State and Alabama is I could see Penn State's ghost.

(just a joke... I have the utmost respect for JoePa... Bama, not so much)
