The 3rd string secondary is comprised of Brandon Taylor at left corner, Stefoin Francois at strong safety, Karnell Hatcher at free safety and Phelon Jones at right corner. Go back in your memory bank and remember how excited you were we were able to get commitments from each of these. These are some really high profile kids 3rd on our depth chart. Good grief. All is well with our secondary people. Trust.
the fact of the matter is Eugene was apparently not ready for SEC play last year that does not mean he won't be capable this season so there is a good dose of reality for you
Yes it is. I happen to think that he will erase those memories this season, but I am one of only a few people that I know who feel this way. It's because he has yet to prove anything. Us Tiger fans quickly get caught up in the potential of these kids versus what they can actually do...
I'm with Gumborue and MLUTiger on Eugene. He didn't do anything BUT get burned last year in his backup role. At least the rest of the backups had their day in the sun (Jones, Coleman, Williams and Scott, etc.). A good point to consider, however, is that our schedule...and the SEC in general, for that matter...will be short of great passers this year. Looking at our schedule, I think we'll see the best passer of the entire regular season on August 30th...certainly nothing resembling an Ainge or a Woodson. Stafford may present some problems if he's on, but our guys have seven games to get ready for him and probably a decent challenge in Chris Smelley of SC the week before. I think they'll be alright. Just good enough, if nothing else.
I wasnt sold on Eugene after what I saw last season, however, I think it just may have been jitters, I think the safety play will help him out alot this year. He will come along and be a good corner. Have some faith. He definitely has the speed.
i trust he will be good, but it requires faith as you said. troubling for me since their is no sure thing at the other cb
This could be the understatement of the century. so is he suddenly going to develop the ability to actually cover someone? What is scary is he is number one on the depth chart, which means he is one of our 2 best corners. I am not exactly sold on Hawkins either. That makes me wonder how bad the rest of them are. here is a nice dose of reality for you...the next player that Eugene actually covers will be his first has a tiger.
