I think sometimes we experiment too much. K. Williams could have had well over 200 yards if he would have been given the ball more. CLM says he wants to establish the run and that would open up the passing game. But everytime Williams would have a great run, we would go to a pass or try something else. Now I know that against teams like Tech we should be able to experiment and work on things that need working on, but get the game in hand first. JMO
after 10 games and a offense loaded with talent and ranked 105 or worse now I would say change the OC, Crowton offensive scheme started out good in his first few years but it has seemed to have gotten easier for me to read weather it is a run play or pass because of the line up and players on the field, so if its easy for me and I am no coach then you know its easy for the opposing coaches, some plays aren't coached very well like the option but they are getting a little better at that play after 10 games :yelwink2: . I miss the smash mouth football that we use to play were you use the running game kinda like Stanford is doing!! now we got this wild Tiger crap, it just doesn't fit!!!
My opinion is we are fine! We are about where everyone thought we would be record wise and even though we haven't "looked" good at times doesnt mean we have a overall team "problem". We are lacking in a few areas but we are winning, recruiting well, competing for championships, ranked in the top 10 and looking at a major bowl game again. I know one thing, we have become spoiled and the fan base has unrealistic expectations.
He hate our old coach so much he refuses to spell his name. Prefers to refer to him as you would an obscenity, therefore the asterisks. I still prefer $aban as the reference.
Yeah i agree with this. I think we are right where we want to be. Hopefully the Tech game was enough to wake the team up going into next week. Our glaring problem is defensive line. Our D Line gets pushed around by everyone and i think that we should be rotating people in and out more from the end position and tackle position. I think Jefferson has progressed well, and if we finish strong, this team will be ranked in the top 5 coming into next season, i have LSU at 3, behind USC at 2, and Alabama at 1. Good post DRC.
We can end up with a 10-2 year which is always good. So I do not feel like the sky is falling completely. Plus I think we have some good young talent that will continue to develop. Knee jerk reactions to this season though... 1. I am tired of Crowton and his bubble screens. I am tired of him going to the pass or a tricky play right after a 8 yard run. He needs to move on. 2. We have got to develop our QB's better. Maybe this goes back to point 1. 3. We must get some pressure on the QB from our DL.
