1. There ain't a whole lot of difference in the top-5. All of those teams have the talent to compete. 2. It depends on who you follow. Rivals is always unusually favorable to Bama. But Scout did not rank them #1 last year. ESPN and CBS ranked LSU #1 in 2009 and Scout eventually ranked LSU #1 after seeing who actually made the team in August. 100% of LSU's class were eligible in 2009, not so with Bama.
Just going by previous track record, which coaching staff do you think is better at developing and utilizing the talent of these highly ranked classes?
The home base for SEC officiating is in Birmingham after all. :tigereye: Best example of amazing SEC officiating this year:
I cannot understand why this issue can't even be seriously addressed, much less fixed, and nobody's even making much of an effort. It hurts the credibility of the league every time a big call is blown, so you'd think the member university presidents would have a vested interest in improving the quality of officiating. It ain't like the SEC is making chump change, so there's no excuse for the status quo to continue. It's almost like the league wants the SEC to turn into the WWE or boxing, using controversial calls as a cheap ploy to drive up ratings.
It wont change because it's the good ole boy system at work. It really reminds me of the characters in the Dukes of Hazzard. :hihi:. In the SEC there's no accountability for bad officiating and there's no external review of performance. It's all kept in house...the way the good ole boys want it.:dis:. Slive has to go !!
Going by the track record . . . both staffs have SEC and National championships, highly ranked recruiting classes, bowl victories, All Americans, etc. I don't see a hell of a lot of difference. We understand the coach-worship nature of the Bamafan, dude, but it gets a bit tiresome here.
