The only difference is that the Kentucky loss was on the road against a ranked opponent, though.

I gotta think that we fall further than that. The human polls alone would probably see to that.

I assumed that was Arizona St.

If we are indeed #4 this afternoon, I will have to change my shorts. :D

But we have to remember that as great as we thought it was at the time playing a ranked Kentucky, we must realize that as the season goes on, the true strength of schedule comes to light. There are only 3 of all the teams LSU played this season that are STILL ranked - VT, Auburn and Florida.

The two teams LSU lost to are 7-5 and 8-4. If these teams only had one loss at this point in the season, we might be ranked higher.

    Not very.

Even at #7, LSU isn't completely out of it. A lot of teams are sitting next week. Mizzou and WVU both need to lose and LSU gets some computer help to squeeze in at #2. It's not going to happen, but it's not that far fetched considering this season's upsets.

mlutiger, you're so right. it's not going to happen. not even in this season of upsets. you'd have to jump 5 places with just one more round of games to go. if you had more games left-maybe. that's why it hurts so much to lose late. you run out of time to make up lost places. good luck in the atl.

LSU has about as good a shot of getting into the NC game as does a Democrat getting into heaven.
