anyone notice that ESPN named Moldenhaur the player of the game last night in the 9th. When i saw that i was like, damn that's a little premature. Knowing what we know now, who was your player of the game last night?

    DJ? Matty Ott? Mikie Mahtook?

i would have to go with DJ, because of his home run and 2 run double to tie, but Matty Ott a close second for shutting down Texas.

    thoughts?

I swore I saw them say Mahthook was the POG when it was over last night. Maybe Co-POG's?

DJ for sure. Don't forget he scored the winning run after drawing the walk and advancing on a stolen base.

Yeah, I have issues with ESPN naming the player of the game and the "game-changing performance" before the game is over. Surely DJ's 2-run double and final at-bat are game changers, as well as Matty's lights-out pitching.

I was listening to the radio too, so I may be confused.

It would be a hard choice for me between DJ and Ott. DJ was absolutely clutch, but for a freshman to come in and pitch 3 hitless innings in that pressure cooker with so much on the line is unbelievable. Flip a coin, either choice would be a great one.

+1 for the most part. I was pretty much thinking the same thing.

However, if I was forced to make a choice, I would say DJ. As impressive and deserving as Matty was, he's not even in that position if not for DJ.
