I agree with LSU forces the ROTC to move which for as long as I have been tailgating on the PG that is where they have held it. Then the officials that make that choice are no better then Saban himself and are nothing but money grubbing WHORES! What I predict will happen is sometime this week the ROTC people will all of a sudden come out and say for the sake of LSU and its national image they will move out of the kindness of their hearts....when in fact someone in a suit smoking a cigar with a crowbar in his hand will be in the shadows behind the scenes!
They cannot move because the entire purpose of having it on the Parade Grounds is because of tradition, and also to honor the fallen soldiers remembered on the memorial.
I know this! Alot of people know this and this is the way it should be. But $$$$$ speaks alot louder sometimes then tradition and honor!
But does GameDay actually pay the school anything? I am not so sure they do. To LSU, it is free publicity for the university itself and for recruiting. It is a win-win situation to simply accommodate the crew by not allowing tailgaters in a certain spot on campus. I'd like to see Gameday set up on the PMAC again.
ME TOO. GET them the hell out of our tailgating spot! I assumed that some moneys were exchanged between ESPN and schools.
I am sure some type of arrangement was reached between the school and ESPN about this. I doubt very seriously that the school will move/alter an event that has been scheduled for sometime now. I expect Gameday to make its triumphant return to the ramps of the PMAC, with the back drop being Tiger Stadium. It looked better on TV that way anyway. If I recall, the only reason it was moved there in the first place was because of the construction on North Stadium (mainly the Mass Communications building) and the renovation of Mike's new habitat. All that is finished now.
LSU announced Gameday won't be on the parade grounds. But that their set is also too big for the PMAC. The leading candidate right now is inside the Track Stadium.
