Washington was the first game of the season. I think many people, fans, players, maybe even coaches underestimated Washington to some extent, and that kept them in the game. Tech was better played defensively than Washington, but our Offense was the issue. I think Miles just wanted to get out of that game with a win, no matter how ugly it was in many peoples' eyes. Our starting QB and RB were out, plus getting the team motivated against them ("Tech,we beat them every year, why worry, right?") and coming off of Alabama made motivation difficult. The main point is that they were wins, but many things can be learned from those two games.
I just want to see the defense shine. I know Jefferson took a ton of sacks, but you know how many he took against Bama? 0
I'm confident of an LSU victory in the cap one bowl...but last time I was this confident of a win over Penn State was in the 1973 Orange Bowl. (Penn State 16 LSU 9) :bncry: It's our turn :thumb:.
I am getting really fired up about the game and feel we will win it and win it pretty convincingly. Only caveat is that I think a lot of the team's trouble this year has been between the ears, and that leaves open the possibility of either not REALLY being ready or not playing smart. Either will kill you against a quality opponent. Another angle...with the demise of Bobby B, any possibility this could be JoPa's last game? That could be a big intangible.
This is going to be a very low scoring good football game. But I could care less about what Pat Forde says. That guy might just be the biggest big 10 hater in the world.
