Unfortunatly, for a lot of football fans (and some Tigerfans also) Les will have the stigma of "winning with Saban's talent" (god, I'm sick of that) until he wins like he did the last 3 years, with no saban players at all. Of course, to the bama fans, it's still all saban. I've never seen coach worship like this.
No, Nick still gets all the credit for LSU's success next year. His strength and conditioning coach is still here.
"It's gonna take the 82nd Airborne to get him into Tiger Stadium," the Big Ragoo says. I laughed pretty good at that quote.
I might get bashed for this, I'm sure the Big Ragoo and the evil twins have some fans here, but I wish they wouldn't have used them for a composite of all LSU fans. They don't speak for a lot of us, IMO
I don't hate Nick Saban. Saban did a good job when he was given the honor of coaching at LSU. He lost credibility in my book in the way he departed both LSU and the Dolphins. No need to rehash either here. He's no longer our coach and I hope we beat Alabama senseless on Saturday. Not b/c Nick Saban is the coach, b/c its Alabama, an SEC West opponent we try to beat every year. The matchup: The Motivator vs. The Dictator (Not really but it sounds cool) Go Tigers ! :thumb:
I don't hate Nick. I was astonished 2 years ago, and sorry the way he snuck out of Miami, but I'm over it. Just another game to me. The incentive now is the SECW.
I'd say he didn't lose his credibility until he went to 'Bama. It was heartbreaking to lose him, but I don't think any of us felt he wasn't going to the NFL eventually. But to give up on "his dream" after just 2 years and to step back down to coach one of our biggest rivals was the real stab in the back, IMO.
Neither are great coaches. I like Miles. I love that he plays to win instead of playing not to lose. Awesome recruiter, obviously. But he's not a great coach.......yet. I think he's a very good coach on the verge of becoming great. He needs more years and consistently do what he's doing now. As far as Saban goes, not a great coach either. Has had only 1 good year in his coaching career, and we all know what year that was. He's a great recruiter and a defensive guru. But he plays not to lose and therefore plays "down" to teams (i.e. UAB, ULM losses).
Who do you think are great coaches then? Im a master at finding flaws. Just give some names and I can spin away for you.
