I'm not surprised at all. Seven of the ten BCS Champions were undefeated and zero losses means more than strength of schedule to many journalists...especially those who typically cover teams in weak conferences.

This year's LSU team had more talent than some of those listed above but the two losses guaranteed them the last spot.

What's still amazing is how the SEC has managed to win four of the ten titles while not only playing in the best conference but also having to win the SEC Championship game.

Polls are just about opinions...and you know what they say about opinions!

swap # 3 and # 7 and it's an okay list. The '04 USC wasn't tested like most of the teams on this list. The '03 LSU team, particularly the defense, was one of the best BCS champs ever.

To get respect for beating the best, you gotta' play the best .... LSU did, and USC didn't, IMO. :yelwink2:

And the same can be said about LSU in 2003. :yelwink2:

Actually based on SOS and talent IMO, last year's LSU team was better than 2003.

The 2003 team had one of the best defenses in the last decade or so. The offense wasn't so great. Remember our offense got shut out at home against an average Florida team. That would be the only thing bringing that team down from the best. Last year's team was SO close to going undefeated, so it's hard for me to keep them very low. They were freakishly talented.

No respect for the 2004 USC team? Did anyone watch the Orange Bowl?

The 2003 team's "signature moment" was Eli Manning getting tripped by a teammate? Not shutting up all of the UGA apologists in the SECCG? Not putting up 21 in the first quarter against Auburn and shutting down Cadillac and Ronnie Brown? Not pounding USCe into the dirt, carried by two freshman running backs seeing their first meaningful playing time? ESPN disses us again.

Decisions, decisions, decisions! Wake up, you clowns!

We sucked here in the poll because there were two choices.

Had all the LSU fans voted first on 2003 & 2007, and then cast their votes for the winner (2003), we'd be # 1.

Add the votes of 2003 & 2007

    LSU rules!

do you mean the 2005 Orange Bowl where USC faced a cupcake OU team? .... that the Orange Bowl you were talking about ???

.... I rest my case :nope: That Sooner team would've been easily detroyed by most any team in the Top 10 that season ..... lamest secondary to ever play in a BCS bowl ....
