Yeah, well, we got jobbed pretty bad on a couple of spots in the first half, neither of which did the refs bother to freaking measure. One was a run by Scott where he CLEARLY got past the yellow line. Should have been measured and challenged by Miles because he got screwed on the spot. As far as the penalty on Green, Georgia still had every opportunity to stop us. . .but they declined. And Hans, I said the exact same thing that you did. We freaking ran it right at them and they couldn't stop it.
Scott Van Pelt at it now, he is about to say how that penalty changed the outcome of the game, and blah blah blah. The same penalty was called twice, one on each team. LSU capitalized, Georgia didn't, quit trying to downplay this win with typical media driven bullsh!t. Ok, van pelt mentioned the LSU penalty as well, you are semi forgiven for now.
They had plenty of time to score to tie it up. It only took us 15-20 secs to put the winning points and they had forty plus seconds to tie it up. We both kicked it off from the same spot. We executed and they didn't. :geaux:
Its a dumb argument because they still would have moved into FG range... However, your argument doesnt make sense to most people because they are assuming if that penalty doesnt take place then Scott doesnt score a TD -- so that 2nd celebration doesnt matter.
It does matter because it gave Georgia potentially great field position also, with which they could have had a better chance of scoring.
Yes, Van Pelt's take was that it was a horsesh!t penalty that was called equally. LSU, however, took advantage while UGA didn't. It didn't sound to me like he was making an excuse for Georgia.
Agreed. Although it definitely looked like a safety while the play was in progress, it clearly was not after the replay.
