you just confused me. i was talking about the michigan-alabama game on that top games list which they said had shaun alexander and tom brady. they list it in 2006, it was in 96 i think. i was referring to the UF game in '07 which was awesome. but i was also at the UF game in '97 which was legendary. and '97 was not pre bcs.
my bad. i guess 97 is not pre bcs the UT NC that is called98 was for the 97 season. that always confuses me i will always consider the LSU NCs (the two most recent) as 03 and 07, i think we'll see mostly 04 and 08 from the media in future.
'98 was the season UT went unbeaten (bowl game was played in '99). I've always seen us reffered to as '03 and '07 champs, which I think goes back to the days that the champ was awarded before Bowl games were played. The Bama/Michigan Orange Bowl was in Jan '00 (after the '99 season).
