Was just watching First Take and they had Dana White on there in an interview. Of course it started with talking about this weekends big PPV, but then they asked him about Kimbo Slice and he basically called ESPN the Magazine a joke for putting him on the cover. At the end of the interview they said that ESPN360 would cover the weigh-in and prefight and post fight coverage. Funny how ESPN now wants to recognize MMA as a true sport.

ESPN is a day late. UFC hit a plateau about a year ago.

I lived in California for 5 years, and the UFC was at its biggest over there in '05-'06. Seems like the hype has died down a bit, but I don't see it going away.

ESPN is realizing that MMA is the new boxing. I can remember watching Friday night fights with my grandpa and he would bet a nickely on every fight with me.

Fun thing is now I did the same thing with my 4yr old son.

Plateaued a year ago? Do you even follow the sport? The sport didn't die when Chuck lost to Rampage like you might believe...

MMA has grown exponentially every year...and will continue to rake in money with a growing international fanbase. It's about time ESPN hops on the train.
