Why was it asinine you must be wondering? You've outlined it here. What did Chizik inherit from Tuberville? What did Urban inherit from Tressel? Did either of those two coaches take over a program that had been severely crippled by the NCAA on scholarships? No. Not even close. In fact, both of these two brought in highly ranked classes for their successors took over. On the other hand, Franklin took over a team limited on total scholarships, limited on initials. This is so simple. If you look at Chizik you see the program was losing more conference games each year. And, as a result, he was fired. On the other hand, you look at Franklin and see improvement each year. Damn near every post about Miles conference record came from you. But, the story was told in those records getting worse. Urban took over for Luke Fickel who I think we can agree is not a head coach. More importantly, Ohio State lost five scholarships over three years due to playing ineligible players. FIVE over three years. Franklin had that to deal with in his first year. His FIRST. He predecessor had lost 20 over the past two years. A loss of 25 over three years versus a loss of five over three years ... again, you're comparing things that are worlds apart.
