i don't think you will ever have to worry about that my friend... Louisiana is in the South and the South will never change unfortunately.

I just hope he disappears when he's done. I don't hate the guy but thought he was a pompous ass even when he was at LSU. He has short man's syndrome and can't control his temper when things aren't going his way or he's asked a tough question.

I don't know how long he'll stay in college. He's a money/power whore so he'll either milk Alabama or find another option. I don't see him ever returning to the NFL. His ego could lead him to believe he could succeed but I believe it's obvious he would be a monumental failure just as he was in Miami.

The Dolphins still haven't recovered from his mess.

Those "Bama" fans who believe he'll stay for his love of their program are just in denial. The guy has one true allegiance...and that's to himself. (Jimmy Sexton would be a close 2nd )

Things might get interesting when Paterno retires or illness forces him out, and Penn State is prepared to spend some serious money.

If these voters are 45+ years old you may have an argument. Most people under that age wouldn't follow your rationale.

There have been quite a few programs better than Alabama over the past 20 years. Most people don't hold your program in such high regard as you do.

Most people respect Alabama's history and tradition but to pretend you've consistently been a dominant/elite/dynasty program is just false. If you want to see an example of that just look at our baseball program. :thumb:

He will retire from Bama. The only other move would be a lateral SEC team and that won't happen. He knows he's in the best CF conference. Where you compete for BCS titles every year. Any PSU, OSU, Notre Dame job with more money would have been attractive to him at one time but that's past. Dude aint going no where.

I would've said the same thing about Urban Meyer 2 years ago.

    Never say never.

I can't even read through all of this thread as it is nauseating. Lets face facts when it comes to all of Tappy's mundane comments. As mentioned, Alabama had a great program in the 20th century, but they were a declining program and it pretty much took them lucking into getting Saban to revive it. Instead of running around the internet pissing in everyone's cornflakes, you'd think the dude would be content to sit back and enjoy the success of his program. That is what most of us have done with LSU this decade. But as we know, that is not enough for everyone. When you are on top of the mountain, anyone and everyone is going to want to knock you off.

My two brothers went to Alabama on full-ride scholarships. We all grew up in NOLA. They are LSU fans when not playing the tide. We have civil conversations about the programs. We admire each team. But my expectations would be far too high to hope for the same thing with some random dude on the 'net. That's why we are lucky to have the few good Bama and OU fans here that we do. These are serious football people who leaven the innuendo and ad hominem attacks out of it. Unfortunately, we can't expect this sort of civility out of everyone. I lost it with Tappy well over a week ago when he said, "LSU's runnning backs SUCK". Jesus....so don't feed the trolls.
