Well, now that the 24 hour orgasm for USC is over let's apply a little logic to ESPN's premature declaration that USC should be No. 1:

    Utah is undefeated.
    USC has a loss.

Utah beat a Big Ten school in an away game.
USC's Big Ten win was at home.

    Utah beat Oregon State.
    Nope.

Utah beat a team whose one prior loss was to a BCS finalist.
USC beat a team whose one prior loss was to a finalist at some steakhouse.

I think it is pretty clear:
    -- Herbie has to build a home in Utah where he can stare longingly at the stadium where his beloved team plays;
-- Courso will spend the off-season walking around with a Utah headdress in either Oklahoma or Florida saying "not so fast my friend;"
-- Mark May will need a prescription for ammonia capsules to use as he is randomly overcome by the vapors when reminded of the Sugar Bowl.

Don't forget the AP like I suggested in the thread in the sports forum!

    I'll post this again...

So basically, by you guys being in favor of a co-national champion this year, you would lend credence to USC's "split" national championship in '03 because they got hosed just as bad that year too. OU should not have been in the NCG given they couldn't win their own conference after getting blown out by K-State.

We don't want them to get a split national championship. We just want ESPN to be fair and push Utah instead of USC.

Go read the "Utah Co national champs" thread in the Total Sports forum. They're all calling for a split championship.

I would put Utah #2 behind the winner of OU and UF..... and USC at #3.

The loser of UF/OU drops to number 4, IMO.

Ummm, I was being sarcastic and making fun of ESPN's idiocy that the AP should go its own way (as recommended by ESPN).

And I would have it OU/FLA winner #1.
    (If Texas wins) Texas #2.
    Utah #3.
    OU/FLA loser #4.
    USC #5.

If i had a vote in the AP, UTAH #1

I'll be looking for a UTAH Utes National Champions Pennant. (I have both a huge Florida and OK. Fan at work.) If I have to make my own shirt, i'll do that.

    You are correct.
I don't have to "give" credence to USC, it has already been done by the AP and the national media.
I agree 100% that OU had ZERO business playing for a :crystal: after they lost their championship game.
That was 100% ****ed up and that is why I'm in favor of playing less games and having a playoff!

The standard was set in 03 whether I like it or not!
