Another example if we can Miles that is a bad thing.

Face it, most of these kids have ALL said that Miles is a BIG reason they come to LSU.
He can recruit with the best of them. Plain and simple.

Maybe with the headset on he isnt what some hope, but with some strong assistant coaches that is an easy fix.
BUt finding a good recruiter and most importantly someone who actually LOVES LSU and our community. That is rare.
Nick Saban never gave 2 Sh*ts about LSU or Baton Rouge, he doesnt about Bama either (Sorry Bama fans) it is just a job for him, one he is very good at.
I truly believe Les loves LSU and the environment of Baton Rouge.

I don't see Miles getting fired this year. The defense will be solid. If this team falters, it will be because of the offense. Miles will can Crowton, hand the reigns to Gonzales and then cross his fingers.

I dont think saban would have left for another college job any college coach would have done the same thing he did. There is not a coach on this planet that does'nt want to coach in the NFL.

I never faulted him for leaving for the NFL. I'm not even faulting him for going to Bama. The thing it does prove though, is what TexasTigers said, LSU never meant anything other than a job to him, or he wouldn't have come into the same cofererence and division, in a neighboring state where he would have to directly compete against LSU for recruits and wins.

If he had a strong love for LSU (like he claimed right up until he went to bama) He would have stuck it out at Miami until a good job that was less of a rival for us. I'm not saying that he should have, mind you, just saying that LSU was just a job, just like Bama. No emotional ties.

And yes, he negatively recruits hard against us, it's been documented on numerous occasions.

He doesn't have any emotion for us, and I don't have any for him. He's the bama coach right now, nothing more or less.

You're either a Tiger or you're tiger bait, it's that simple.

I had more than a few ties to Saban during his time here and he really did love Baton Rouge and LSU and it is not really up for debate. His wife probably loved it here more than him and still come in to visit.

I don't buy the if he loved LSU he wouldn't have gone to a rival. Money talks and Bama paid more than any other school would have offered at that time.

But lets not turn this recruiting thread into another Saban diatribe. He has a thread in the college sports board.

This, I agree with. I would be ok with that outcome, too.

Good article. Will be very interesting to see if we can get one more QB and LB.
