That is true. The good news is it won't come to fruition. Miles and the coaching staff are well aware of the importance of, not only having a winning season, but also making sure that this Tiger team shows significant improvement on the offensive side of the ball. To me the more negative press I read the more confident I am that we will have a very solid season, in which the Tigers are back to being serious contenders for the SEC Championship and the MNC. My reasoning is that the more negative press I read the more positive I feel is pretty simple. Miles is a lot of things, some negative and some positive, but the one thing about him that gives me confidence is that Miles is proud. His pride will not allow him to fail this season, and you can tell by the reports coming out of fall camp. He is focusing on the weaknesses that the Tigers have suffered from over the past 2 seasons, and making the necessary corrections. I look at the UNC game as the game of redemption. The game that Miles and the Tigers put everyone on notice that we are back. That the past 2 seasons, regardless of the shortcomings and mistakes made, were a blip on the radar. That the past 2 seasons are just that, the past. Miles and the Tigers have something to prove, and that is that their 3 previous seasons were no fluke. That Miles and the Tigers have a standard of excellence and that standard will not be compromised anymore. I like what I am seeing and hearing out of camp, and I think the fire that we are hearing about will translate onto the field. Whatever the reasoning for the mistakes made over the past 2 seasons Miles stands up and accepts the blame. He has, to this point, done as much as he could to correct the issues and make the necessary changes that will bring us back to being the Mighty Tigers. I am pumped for this season and look forward to watching this Tiger team prove to Tiger Nation and the college football world that we are here and we are not going away.:milesmic: :LSU231: :geaux: :LSU231:
In my opinion, that is one of the best articles that has been on ESPN in recent memory. It perfectly sums up to the nation what everyone who follows LSU already knows.
I agree. Miles built himself a lot of equity with his early success. Also, with the top recruiting classes every year, it feels like this team could break out at any time. Miles would need to pull us down pretty low before he gets the ax. I think at least one losing season or back to back 7-5 seasons. That is also what scares people so much. They see us going that way but do not want to see the program get that low. The flip side is we just took a dip and will be back on top this year. It's anyones guess. But as you said, for right now, I think the powers that be are happy with the status quo.
There is a youtube video of this somewhere and you can see him use his arm to get up and he rolls over again.
