Les spoke the truth. The kid didn't have it in him to get on a plane and come this far from mommy. I swear some of you will never be satisfied. It's like constant PMS around here. It's getting hard to stomach this junk.
Frick it. LSU has been getting a lot of love the last year and you see what that got us in the BSCNC. Bama was getting raped in the media. This team might need a little us against the world mentality. Time to roll through another season and finish it this time.
I dont know anything about the 9th and I was as upset as you about the QB decisions after the first Bama game. I wanted Jefferson to never step on the field again. But I dont know anything. What I do know, is Les Miles is our coach, and that is not going to change. I also know that this coach has gone 25-3 the last two years and won the SEC. I also know that 99.9% of all the teams in the nation would kill to have that kind of record and accomplish what this program has done recently. I have friends who are UT fans who the top 1 or 2 recruiting class every year and suck ass in the a very weak conference. So my point to all this ? I dont know anything about the 9th at all, I do know I was screaming at the top of my lungs to get Jefferson out of the game. I also know that its done and over with and some point I can either stand behind the man and assume he will adjust OR I can continue to harbour the misery and anguish I had on the 9th and let it rot from the inside. hating les Miles accomplishes nothing but weakens a fan base and what is appearing to be our team and recruits. Upset about the 9th sure. But it is time to turn the page. But you are right it is a free country. You can let it stew forever, we can fire Les. No coach in the their right mind would come here after ran off the most winningest coach in LSU history (and in D1 football the last 6 years) and was hated by 80% of the fan base after putting up a 13-1 season. Les is a human and a man. He is not fallible. Nor are you. Sure he is paid millions and his record and winning teams has in turn brought millions to LSU. Regardless of your paycheck doesnt mean you are perfect. The sainted Saban most people around here seem to love isnt either. Still love the pass he got for that Auburn debacle last year. If that was Les people would have burned his house down. Blowing a 21 point lead to your hated rival on your own field. But no since it is Saban. Its O.K. F Nick Saban. Geaux Les Miles. Everyone can bitch all they want about Les. Bottom line you will end up right back it the same spot.
Les is from fricking OHIO! He went to MICHIGAN! What the frick does he know about going away to play football a long ways from home as an 18 year old?? He shouldnt have said it. Period.
I understand. I agree with you but it just really rubs me the wrong way to hear him say that in front of all those people. Talk about the guys you got and not the guys you didnt get. It was poor taste. That is a comment that will haunt him in recruiting. regardless of the 9th or future recruiting, It was a poor decision. He didnt just avoid the high road....He back tracked a mile and took the low road
I guess but I just dont see how they need ANY of that. Are thy not already motivated? Do you think the team gives a shyt about Gunner Kiel? They were humiliated on the biggest stage. I have a feeling they are already extremely motivated.
For the record I am one that preferred Les DIDNT say this and simply said "They guys that bailed" didnt have the chest to compete. Had he done that I would be 100% behind it. BUT since he specifically called out Kiel. I dont see how that can do us ANY good at all. More so because it just gives the media and our rivals another stone to throw at us right now.
P.S.- I have never considered myself a Les Miles basher. I always felt comfortable trusting him because of the type of man I believe he is and how much he brings to the table besides clock management. Thats what it falls back on. That he is a good man that does things the right way. If this becomes the norm then I begin to think differently. I'm aware of his success. I wont keep on about it. I just dont see how what he said is acceptable. HUBRIS! why would Kiel not want to be Les' qb?? oh he must be a coward with no talent. That is basically what he said in a packed auditorium.
