So you think that booing of the opposing team by a home crowd is no longer politically correct in college sports? What's next? Do we have to cheer when Bama scores?
Um, YES. It makes it okay, while it's not okay to boo our own players. And by extension, I would also add it's not okay to boo our coaches, either. If you had one-tenth as much compassion for Jefferson as you have for Kiel, you might get this concept.
Not what your last few post indicate. Try rereading them when your meds kick in... Let it go... :bncry:
Considering the tactics used by recruiters like meyer, kiffen, saban, tressel, carol, Kelly etc, etc. this is relatively B rated, yeh he may catch a little flak for it for a few days but it'll blow over. I'm glad he finally said something other than " we have a want for this or that..."... Kiel was a punk, didn't have the nut sack to stand tall and lead this team, he knew he wouldn't measure up to Mett and ran. So be it, but due to the fact we lost a recruit because of his peter pan antics, he deserves to be criticized, I'd have been a bit more harsh.
I AGREE. These 18 year old males are not children, or kids, or babies. I AGREE. Miles gets all of the bad press, but, when a more favored coach grayshirts a recruit at the last second because a better looking recruit popped up, THIS gets no negative press whatever. I have no idea what we can do about it, but, we ourselves should stop contributing to this misconception that these 18 year old males are children, no matter what Mommy says about it. What's next? Before you know it, a man won't be considered an adult until he's 30 years old? I also agree with your other points. I have 31 years of military service.
Let me clear this up... What Miles did to Kiel was wrong by calling him out (Tiger or not) Booing our players/coaches is wrong Yes, Stacey, still don't like JJ. I will never like JJ. You will never get me on the JJ bandwagon.
Considering that what this young man did at the last moment had such a negative effect on another school and another athlete it didn't bother me at all what Miles said. I find it quite refreshing myself. and i hope the Davis kid is getting some grief from his classmates, not for changing his mind but for screwing over LSU and another player that would have gotten that scholarship.
