Twisted, you are a genius... :)

I took a lot of crap on this board for a while...I can take the Alabama shots as good as anyone. Some people can dish it but cant take it. That is just the way it is on the internet--and also in real life of course.

Back on topic: If you are keeping score, Dye was on Finebaum today and said the he wishes that he could take credit for the hire of Chizik...Then went on to talk about how great of a coach he was and that "his record at Iowa State is a moot point".

He also said that he has a major problem with what is going on behind the scenes (Auburn's bad press) and that some of it is coming from Memphis (Jimmy Sexton's office) and a lot of it from Tuscaloosa (i.e. Saban). I'm sure that this will get stirred up pretty quick. He also said: "Paul, if you get lonesome here around Birmingham, come on down to the plantation".

Of course that above quote was a joke...But I'm not sure that it was wise to make that comment and use the "P" word with all of the crap that's going on right now. They are pouring it on themselves...

He does live on a plantation. Lets not be so sensitive.

I'm not being sensitive...I could care less. I dont think that race played the major part in the Chizik hire. I think it was moreso the power.

I just think that it wasn't the greatest word to use since the media is painting AU as a "Plantation University". You know how the media disects and jumps to conclusions on everything...Ya know, how Jacobs said over and over that Chizik was the "right fit".

I just think that Auburn folks should just keep quiet for a while because they keep diggin deeper and deeper.

    Couldn't....it's couldn't care less....

Tubby got his ass handed to him by Saban in the Iron Bowl.

Stupid AU booster and board member makes a call to Nutt to see if interested in AU job.

Tubby has a clause in his contract...ink still fresh from the Jetgate fiasco...that says there shall be no coaching searches conducted behind his back. Period.

Tubby's agent is Sexton...Nutt's agent is Sexton. Oops!

Tubby resigns...without financial penalty of course...he probably made a ton of money off the deal.

Nutt gets a big raise at Ole Piss.

A Sexton represented coach gets the AU job.

    Sexton makes more money.

It might surprise you, but in general I agree. But you probably haven't seen as much of the Auburn-bama rivalry up close as I have. Awhile back, they beat us 9 years in a row and what they have got lately is payback for their behavior during those years. It's simply role reversal and that old "what goes around comes around bit." In time it will change again. Such is life. Each side just revels in whatever the flavor of the day is. The bammers just sometimes have short memories, contrary to what a pachyderm is supposed to have. They can remeber MNCs all the way back to 1492 but can't remember more recent things:insane:
In most cases it's nothing personal. Heck my oldest daughter is a bama grad and we go at it too. It pained me no end to buy her what she wanted for Christmas....a bama jacket.
I have stated in other recent posts here that I agree our FB program is in the s**t can right now so I'm not arguing that point.

And, we are excommunicating Charles Barkley. Anybody want this jerk?

I agree 100% what comes around does go around and things do change.
Isn't that the truth, there are many that think they are national champions this year too and they didn't even win the SEC. They are one cocky and arrogant bunch for a group that hasn't won anything in a decade.
WOW, I know that was a painful experience!!!!! Did you at least go out of town to buy it so you wouldn't be recognized? Internet purchase?
I consider AU a pretty big rival, our games have been very big in recent years. That being said I have to admit I am enjoying the recent turmoil, sorry. I have a hard time understanding how things fell apart so quickly and how badly the administration has bungled the whole thing.

I actually cherished the AU rivalry and playing against a solid coach in Tubbs. I'm hoping Chizik is better than we all expect. In any case, Alabama is becoming more competitive now, and to me, our rivalry with them is less friendly; Bama makes my blood boil, especially with Saban, more than Auburn ever could. If Auburn tanks, I'll miss our rivalry. If Alabama tanks, all the better in my view (though Alabama brings national attention to the SEC, which I grudgingly appreciate).
