I don't see any rational thought process in this hire. Smells of "Good ol boy" network decision making.

At least I'm not making an idiot of myself on another school's board by trying to paint myself as an expert on somebody else's programs. You have been successful in proving the point an LSU poster made earlier....let bama have a successful year in FB and they become more obnoxious than normal.

Here is a video clip of Chizik arriving at the Auburn airport:

The fans yell out "Welcome Home," and "War Eagle!" and are excited.

Hundreds of fans showed up to greet Chizik as he arrived Sunday at the Auburn/Opelika Airport.

I've been listening to Pat Dye on Finebum just now. He's all over the place but in one ramble Dye takes a real sideswipe at Huston Nutt. Something about how Auburn would never give Nutt serious consideration given all the problems Nutt had at Arkansas.

Dye seems a little defensive about the new coach, although he's generally supportive. The hire, according to Dye, was all the AD's doing, nobody else's. "Let us interview your choice once you've made up your mind" was Jay's only instruction per Dye.

For years AU fans have reveled in Bama's disastrous downward death spiral. Now that AU has taken a page from Bama's book you don't seem to be able to take the heat coming from the kitchen. You have been a really good poster here, but before you jump on all the Bama fans celebrating AU's attempt at football suicide you might want to look in the mirror. Your programs direction is almost a mirror image of Bama's not too many years ago. Good ole boys and rogue boosters sent Stallings out the door creating a revolving door of poor coaches and the end of Bama's glory days. AU's inept athletic department and boosters that seem to be running things have done something very similar in running off a proven winner in Tubby. Now they've hired their version of Mike Shula.

Instead of getting mad at rival fans who are definitely going to take pleasure in your teams demise, you should be studying Bama's past and changing course immediately. Meanwhile Bama should be calling your staff and figuring out how to get iron bowl championship rings that fit a thumb, they are going to run out of ring fingers quick IMO.

Wrong. Bo Rein, LSU. Of course they never coached a game at their respective schools for very different reasons.... :(

Now that was a great reply. A little pay back never hurts anybody.
