    Tuscaloosa born and raised...

You proud of that athletic dept down there? What will it take for someone to stand up to those POS trustees like Lowder and Co.? They have made your school the laughing stock of CFB.

Your recruiting has been destroyed for years to come because of your loudmouthed alum Barkley.

Gizzick wont last long and who is going to want to take that job knowing they will have to be a puppet? The Auburn program has been flushed down the crapper and you know it. How's it taste...A bit of your own medicine.

Hey, at least you have swimming. :thumb:

He wants people to think that he had nothing to do with it...Does anyone believe that? No. He wrote a great motivational letter to the "Auburn Family" trying to get everyone behind this hire and how great of an AD Jay Jacobs is. :rolleye33:

I'm interested in who they will bring in as assistants...It will be an obvious Dye hire if you see assistants like Patrick Nix, Stacy Searles, Rodney Garner, or join the staff.

I'm not sure who I would rather get stuck with:

33-year-old Lane Kiffin -- who was 5-15 as head coach of the Raiders in his only experience as a head coach (before that his only claim to fame was with the Southern Cal Trojans, as a position coach when they won the National Championship, and as offensive coordinator from 2005-2006)

46-year-old Gene Chizik -- who was 5-19 as head coach of Iowa State in his only experience as a head coach (before that his claim to fame was DC of the 13-0 Auburn team in 2003 and DC of the 13-0 Texas team that was National Champions in 2004)

In all fairness to Kiffin, he had to work for Al Davis...I mean come on the guy would call down to the field and call plays himself. I would rather play or coach for the Lions before Oakland! Disfunctional just isn't the word to describe it.

Kiffin is putting together a very strong staff in Knoxville. That will also give him no excuse for putting something together quickly.

An Iowa St. beatwriter said this of Chizik...

    "Probably" means it's not certain.

Saban was 9-7 then 6-10 with the Dolphins. Tony Sparano--a guy that had much, much weaker coaching experience than Saban--has led Miami to a 9-5 record, tied for best record in the AFC East.

Just goes to show that a guy with a weaker resume isn't always going to be a weaker coach.

But yeah, being that Tuberville was 4-3 all-time against Saban during their time in the SEC West together, it was pretty silly of Auburn to fire him, being that Tuberville had shown he could go toe-to-toe with Saban over seven seasons.

I believe that you misquoted me...I didn't say that, an Iowa St Beatwriter did.

I do agree with him though. From folks in Iowa St, there is a difference between losing and looking like a complete idiot on the sidelines. Why would you bring in a defensive minded coach to a school that is having loads of problems on the offensive side of the football? Iowa St had the easiest schedule in the Big 12 this year not having to play TT, OU, or UT and still went winless in conference play--and were SMASHED in all of those games. This defensive minded coach's team allowed 450 ypg and allowed almost 60 TD's on the year. He will need one hell of an offensive mind for an OC for it to even be close to working...and I dont see it happening, because I'm sure they will probably keep it in house and get a former AU coach.

Guy gets a raise for sucking...Good for him--for now anyways.

Doesn't hurt to have The Big Tuna running things either in regards to the Miami comment above.

I don't really care what Auburn or how they chose a new coach.

I can foresee our conference getting weaker in the coming years though, it's almost assured Meyer will leave for ND when the opportunity presents itself.

Tuberville was a good coach and rarely made for an easy win. I don't understand what happened over there or the thought process involved in the hire myself, but then again I don't need to.

I figure soon we'll be out two very competitive coaches in the conference, but perhaps Petrino and Nutt will nullify that.

Does anyone else think Meyer might have bolted to ND if Tim Tebow didn't return? If Weiss stinks it up yet again next season the Urban Meyer to ND rumors might get pretty hot.

Greetings bayou, it's nice to be able to communicate with you again. Same for Buzzard & Crimsonaudio. Hope you all have great holidays.

Meyer in my opinion will head north eventually...what a strange way to communicate with your fan base..."It's great here in Florida but when the coast is clear I've always thought Notre Dang was the dream job."

Tebow has given Urban a lot of flexibility, there is no way -without Tebow in the picture -that Urban would go out of his way to insult his fan base. When Tebow leaves Florida, things will be a little different for the Gators and their head coach.
