TM7 didn't do anything remotely remarkable vs Bama in Game 1 (the Game of the Century) and had a poor game in Game 2. Best 2 out of 3, we won't know what TM7 would do (but since TM7 went to NYC for the Heisman, he has been a disappointment ever since)

You have to come up with at least one big play in the biggest game of the the regular season to win the Heisman. Just one. Just one single big play. It could be anything. TM7 didn't do that (now had he got that INT that All-American Reid got, or had he made that huge play in the punt game that All-American Brad Wing made, then it would be a different story. But TM7 didn't show up, kind of microcosm for his LSU career...

Where do you get that standard You have to come up with at least one big play in the biggest game of the the regular season to win the Heisman ? By that standard none of this year's qualify and only one of the 5 finalists qualified, TM7. From the Oregon to WVA to Fla he made game changing plays. Without his performance in at least 4 games Or, WVU, Ark & Ga we are NOT undefeated. As to showing up after his suspension you seem to have a selective memory. His plays against Ark and Ga (2 of the best punt returns in LSU history) completly turned those games around and were the most important plays in the most important games before the award. Really you seem to have a selective memory. Why do you harp on the game in Jan? It was a MONTH after the Heisman award and had NO BEARING in the consideration for the award.
It could be argued that he had a bigger impact than all 4 of those who were ahead of him in the voting. RG3 & Luck (Or & USC) had bad games; Richardson & Ball were cogs and never were the catalysts that TM7 was. BTW as was pointed out while he had a solid if not spectacular game against the gumps in Nov...certainly as good as T Richardson. His biggest problem was that Luck & RG3 were QBs and his suspension not his play before or after the suspension.

Well said, anyone who thinks that Tyrann wasn't the best player in college football last year is brain dead. If it wasn't blatently obvious that this award is nothing but a popularity contest and beauty pagent wrapped into one, it should have been plainly obvious in 2011. The only reason they got it right this year was due to default.

And those who say he didn't do anything against Alabama, he is a fucking defender, he had 5 tackles, 4 solo, 1 was him destroying their tight end at the line of scrimmage, and he should have been credited with a half sack, McCarron was about to throw the ball, Mathieu was 2 yards a way, he jumped causing McCarron to have to bring the ball down and he helped Montgomery get him on the ground after. So I'm not buying he didn't show up vs. Alabama in game 1, that is garbage.
