hey, last night during the baseball game they were talking about freshmen shortstops and the CWS and didnt mention DJ!!!!!:cuss::cuss::cuss::wave:
ESPN is an entertainment station, and just like all entertainment, not all of the audience is entertained.
this is according to espn.com: Chad Ford covers the NBA and NBA Draft for ESPN Insider. http://sports.espn.go.com/keyword/search?searchString=Chad_Ford
Unless if you research every, single stat given by them on a broadcast, you don't know the full story. They may mess up a FSU stat a few times, or a USC stat or an Auburn stat, too. But just because you have pro-LSU trained ears, it only sends a red-flag when its an LSU stat that they mess up. And no, ESPN does not hate LSU. Although by now, if they would, I wouldn't blame them. Because we the only fan-base with so many clowns in it that thinks this "bias" is real and that sends them hate mail everytime they do a poor research job.
OK, here's the deal: I read this fact in the Advocate this morning. Just a few moments later, I heard it on SportsCenter. A few steps back to my computer had me on cwsomaha.com, and a mere 3 mouse clicks gave me the correct answer. It was no mean feat of research dexterity, no prior memorization of the LSU record book. LSU is even listed BEFORE USC in the easiest and most logical place to go to find this CWS fact. I have no idea how many times they err on FSU, Auburn, or USC stats, and frankly, could not care less. Nor do any of us really know how much hate mail Bristol gets from LSU fans. I'm willing to bet they got a lot during the '03 split championship argument, and with the CLM to Michigan fiasco. In both cases, they deserved it. All I know for sure is that they've yet to hear from me. (Although I once called them pre-internet and gave a SC producer an earful over shoddy Saints coverage). I wasn't looking for a call-to-arms to harass ESPN about their shoddy research, just sharing something I noticed with the TF brethren. The "clowns" are on their own. Are we cool?
