Yeah, I looked this chit up, but we got them beat in this department.

Auburn's top 3 Receiving (returning players) last year (yardage leaders)
    94 catches - 1240 yards

LSU's top 3 Receiving (returning players) last year
    117 catches - 1652 yards

Maybe I should have delved deeper. Just comparing top returning receiver to top returning receiver, Auburn has the edge. But I forgot we spread the ball around more.

In a matter of curiosity (work's internet blocker won't let me access anything reputable), is Dickson in that list of top three "receivers"?

    Yesssssss!!!!

Aww man!! There you go Grad ruining anything that would interest the gals here (and maybe a few guys...)

I'm a believer that strange things can happen and in the event ND is graced by God and their opponents are all strickened with a severe itch (do they play USC this year?) then I am referring back to this post. I will then protest to keep SabanFan from being banned and fulfilling his obligation.

You have a good point...as in ONE good point here.

#1 is THE good point you have.

#2? I have a hunch Kodi Burns is not even the starter for the Barn. Chris Todd is. So your #2 is not legit.

#3? If nobody else knows what we have, they're about to find out. Book it. We don't have a feature back. We have 3 backs that would start...and STAR...and just about any other program in the country. You say Tate was ALMOST a thousand yard rusher. Hester was a 1000 yd rusher, and STILL KW got about 600, and Scott and Murphy and TH and Flynn and Perrilloux weren't too bad either. This year is gonna be SICK as far as rushing the ball goes for LSU.

#4? Pretty much see #3. We have elite receiverS, which is why we didn't have one over 500 yds last season. We spread the ball all over the field...because we CAN.

We're the defending national champs...we don't have anything to prove.:crystal::crystal:

#2 - Your "hunch" negates the legitimacy of my point? Think about this from a prognastacator's POV. You're an ESPN "reporter" sitting at a desk looking at statistics of returning players. Which team has more returning experience at QB?

#3 - To an ESPN pen jockey, what they don't know doesn't help us. They DON'T KNOW what we have when looking at paper. All they see is that our leading rusher had fewer yards last year than Auburn's. For preseason purposes to a person covering dozens of teams, that's all that matters.

    #4 - Pretty much see #3.

And for the record, what part of "I don't agree with it" don't you understand? I'm just not so closed minded that I can't put myself in someone else's frame of mind to determine why he came up with the conclusions that he did.

What continues to baffle me is Auburn had about as close to a complete coaching change as you could have without changing head coaches. Yet are picked to win the West. They're changing offensive philosophies and bringing in new OC. They're supposedly keeping same defensive scheme but any new DC will definitely do a lot of things "different" from the previous in order to put "his stamp" on the unit. The times I watched Kodi Burns last season I was less than impressed. I have no clue what the other guy can do but just going by what I've read it seems neither one of these guys have been very impressive.

These are a lot of changes no matter how anyone spins it. There will be a transition period and it might last longer than the first three warm up games. Rarely do teams have this kind of change and not miss a beat.

To be honest, I didn't realize (comprehend) that you were stating the reasons why THEY chose us second. I thought (because I didn't read the first line of your post) that those were YOUR reasons.

So take my comments and apply them to ESPN, and accept my apology.:thumb:

But as far as Chris Todd over Kodi Burns, that's more than just a hunch.;)
