Gameday Preview is airing as I speak. When the SEC was highlighted, hardly a mention of LSU. Looks like it's gonna be a repeat of last season: *A stuttering fool picks Notre Dame to win 11 games. *Florida is the "cream" of the SEC. *Tebow, Tebow, Tebow. This guy is a god in college football. *Biggest game of the year is Ohio State/USC. These comments go on and on. I would think ESPN would want to garner a little respect in their program. The state of ESPN has continually went downhill for years. Too bad we don't have more choices. The only honest comment I heard on the program was concerning the new statue being put up at Notre Dame. Seems Lou Holtz will get a permanent statue on campus to highlight his contribution to their football program. Lou's comment on the statue was "the pidgeons need a place to roost". Never heard a truer statement on ESPN. View attachment 11274
Sad to hear that Lou Holtz is back this year. I really hope they don't let him do the pep-talk series again this year. That was really lame! :nope:
You said it, the only thing I will add is that the media loves to stir the pot. Doesn't matter if its sports or real life, controversy is good, better ratings. They also love picking their favorites to win every year, it doesn't matter if they lose their key players from one year to another.
Good. I'd rather not have any media hype this season. Better to shine in obscurity than choke on the hype.
Herbie did say LSU is loaded with talent and the only thing that made him pick Auburn in the west was the QB situation. Lou Holtz is....well, I don't really know whats going on up in that head of his.
Notre Dame has a chance to go 9-3 this year, possibly even 10-2. They won't be down forever - too much good recruiting. Most likely 8-4 (losses to Mich St, North Carolina, Pitt and USC). IMO.
