I was watching it today, and espn was talking about teams in the top ten polls that could get into the BCS Game on rankings and make it to the big game. OK they talked alot about Florida, Bama, texas, iowa, usc, tcu, Boise state, Cincinnati, and Oregon. How they could make it with the schedule they play and what it looks like for them in the future. Now here's my question why didn't they say anything about LSU? That being said what would happen if LSU wins out? They totally ignored the fact, and presence of our LSU tigers. How could espn not give credit to LSU if they win out!?! We have the talent, will, and determination to do it. So even if LSU wins out what will be the outcome against the OOC undefeated teams??? Your Thoughts, and Opinions!:geaux: :helmet: Thanks, Tony
By "winning out", I assume you mean we win the SECW and beat the winner of the SECE to be the SEC Champion. In that case, they cannot ignore us! We will have beaten AL and FL. Even being a one loss team, we would have beaten the #1 and #2 teams. That should put us on top of the BCS poll and let them fight it out for #2. LSU!:miles:
Agree. Nobody gives LSU a chance to beat Bama, the way our offense has looked through the first 5 games. Auburn D was not effective, so discount our 31 pts. Alabama has Saban, so LSU loses. I guess we don't even need to show up, just phone in our concession... Nah, I think we ought to show up and play the game anyway! :geaux:
Exactly, talk is just talk. If LSU takes care of business what the talking heads said this week will not matter. The only thing the Tigers need to worry about is the next game. Win out and we're in, no doubt about it.
I'd rather the Tigers be under the radar at this point, and go into the Bama game as an underdog. Knowing that they are not getting any respect should help the Tigers keep their focus and determination. Their destiny is in their hands........:tigereye:
I guess I haven't been seeing what you've been watching. Yes, I've noticed a lack of commentary on LSU's chances, but I've also seen pretty much everyone downplayed who isn't named Florida, USC or Texas. Even Bama's been taking some media hits. Cincy doesn't belong because they play in a Mickey Mouse conference, Boise plays in a Minny Mouse conference, Iowa's a fraud, no one knows what TCU stands for, and, God Forbid, should Oregon get there... a media disaster at its best. Perhaps you're not being mentioned because they don't want you.... yet. I'm not sure what's happened to being the underdog in sports. It used to be what drove sports in general. Most of us can remember the miracle Mets, with their "I Believe" banners. The media use to love the underdog. The Mets were considered charmed, at worst proudly lucky. Today, if a Boise State, Cincy, or Iowa is having a charmed season, they're frauds of one kind or another. Times have changed. So for me, I want you to kick Bama's butt, then win out, despite the refs' calls. Take it as my blessing... from one underdog to another.
I could not agree less. LSU has an even chance with Alabama, and also against Florida in the SEC CG. The teams with the best breaks (or the best refs) will will out. I see no clear advantage among the three. Tebow has not been the superman he was in his Heisman year, or even last year. It's not just the concussion. He simply has not put the numbers up. He's good, but not so good that Florida would lose without him. Florida has a good team, though, maybe the best. Or maybe it's Alabama. Or maybe LSU (They're gellin' late as the season progresses) Hey Tony, ESPN did go on about LSU having a very good chance to get into the BCSCG if we win out. It was later in the game, after LSU had made all 31 of it's game points. I thought the ESPN Pro-LSU verbal coverage this game has never been so good. The hyped everything from the stadium, to the food, to tailgating, to the student section, to the crown noise, and more and more. They even had a clip about the intimidation visiting teams face when in the stadium (Tiny, crowded dressing room, "Tiger Baiting", crown noise, etc. I watch the games from the stadium, so have to rewatch it in a DVR recording the following days to get the impact of the telecast. So I get to do it without any nervousness about the outcome. This telecast was special.
