Pardon the Interuption said the other day that Tony Stewart is bad role model because of what he said after winning at Chicagoland last weekend. After winning at Chicagoland last weekend, when asked what he was going to spend this week doing since they have the week off. He replied saying he was going home and work his way to the bottom of a case of Shlitz beer to celebrate. First how is it they can say this when PTI's two major sponsors are Guiness Beer and Red Strip???? Second, why is it OK for Jr to say he's going home and crack open a few cold ones and that doesn't make him a "bad role model". Smoke replied on his talk show asking what is wrong with say that? He is 15yrs past he legal drinking age, and he's doing it in the privacy of his own home? Just ESPN trying to push Smoke's buttons as usual.
Poor, poor smoke!!!:hihi: I will give him some credit that he is picked on but that is because he wanted this rep. He is known as the BAD BOY of nascar and will tell you how it always is! Coming with that is when people think of him drinking they think of wild crazy nights filled with booze, women, and drugs. When they think of "good ole boy" JR drinking they think of a good ole boy going some to share a couple of beers with his boys. Saying that I will say that I have been out with Tony before and that is not how he goes out, but that is how he is portrayed and he has continued to make himself look like that! The guy with the mouth. Admit it you like him for that reason!!!!!
Listening to him on his talk show, he does sound alot more "down to earth" than he is protrayed to be on TV. He's my driver because he NEVER bites his tongue and he is one of the best drivers in the world. Even if he drinks some nasty @$$ beer. Its just funny that they label him as a bad role model even tho he hosted a charity race at Eldora that probly raised hundres of thousands of dollars for the Victory Junction Gang. What a Prick!
Yeah "good" ole Jr. with his stripper pole in his basement slash nightclub. I bet Tony ain't got nuthin on Jr.'s parties!
I agree that Tony shouldn't be singled out...for that matter...there's nothing wrong at all with what he said. I also agree that he is a great driver. Other than that...he's an idiot.:thumb:
If a kid takes that literally and decides to drink himself into the bottom of a cardboard box then his parents need their asses whipped...not Stewart. Role models begin at home.
In the lastest development, after Smoke won at Indy this past weekend which happened to be ESPNs first broadcast of a NASCAR race in years, Smoke cursed on camera in an interview after the race. I think they even asked him if he was going to go for the bottom of another case of beer. I can't to see what he has to say on his Siruis radio show tonight. http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/7078996
He told the reporter that his victory Sunday was for his fans because of all the BULLCHIT they have to put up with. So because he said BS on camera, he got fined and lost some points, 25 I think.
