Timing, they had a loss and dropped appropriately and then just keep moving up as people in front continue to lose, if we both win out (tough for either team) then we will certainly be ahead of them.
Beat Tulane, beat Bama and we will be up there.
Texas and USC have tough games this week. I think one of those teams loses.
I also think UGA will give UF all they can handle, simply because they have nothing to lose and this is their season. 1 of those 3 will lose this weekend.

Too many feel that LSU barely beat Washington. For those that only looked at the final score and the stat sheets, LSU may as well lost that game. LSU also barely beat Mississippi State and Georgia had it not been for lucky plays and help from the refs, so in the eyes of the voters those are losses too.

USC's starting quarterback was out for the loss against Washington. Have some sympathy and consider that USC would have won this game convincingly.

USC lost earlier than LSU also and USC is better now, so that loss may as well happened last season or not at all. Also USC's loss game in the wake of a hard fought road win against Ohio State (you're supposed to be impressed by this (see sympathy above)).

Confusing? Not at all. Is it right? Hell no.

From what I can gather from most comments is the QB being out for USC is letting them take that as a mulligan. So basically they are getting the standard USC double treatment. Lets hope that Oregon takes care of business this weekend, and its a non-issue.

A one loss USC team or a No loss Big 10 school is the biggest concern for a one loss SEC champ.

We still control our destiny somewhat, Iowa\Texas worries me, I can only hope one of those teams drops one so we can be assured a one loss team will make it into the championship game.

I think TCU and Cincy both drop one in the coming weeks, atleast I hope so, Boise I think gets passed by the SEC champ no matter what.

Barely beating means winning which is better than losing. The thing is how does LSU take one loss to the #1 team and get passed by USC which lost to an unranked team?

"Georgia had it not been for lucky plays and help from the refs, so in the eyes of the voters those are losses too"

Really ? LSU got Lucky to beat UGA ?? Really. LSU went between the hedges and beat UGA and had it not been for the refs they wouldnt have won ???

I am sorry there is "luck" in all football games, but there are many plays per game. LSU went ont he road and beat an SEC team in their barn. I hardly call that luck, people seem to forget Holiday caught the ball roughly 10 yards further then normal, the rest was LSU will and might. I dont think CS's run was Luck. Sorry. Oh note. LSU got the same penalty.

For your second post ever. I must give that statement a thumbs down....

Right which that "unranked team" LSU actually beat in the same place a few weeks earlier.

The only thing that matters right now is you beat Bama.
    USC/Oregon.... same, same.

Florida proved themselves to be a great team as the season progressed last year. We haven't seen anyone even close to that level this year.

It gives everyone hope. Winning cures all, especially in November.

The point of the article is positive, it does not matter what else happens, if we keep winning everything works out. That IF is a big IF. But IF we do win out, we will be in the NC game.
If we dont make it and UF or Bama makes it........I will cheer for the SEC, but it will not be easy this year. I am so sick of hearing about Bama, and Tebow.

Bama: Wins on 2 blocked, 1 missed field goal and "they found a way to win". LSU wins a close one and "we are lucky" (By the way, thats what most of our fans say, we dont need anyone to bash our team, some LSU fans do it first)
UF: Would Jesus throw so many costly picks? How about just striking the guy down while returning your INT for 100 yards. Ref's 2 weeks in a row made very favorable calls for UF....combined with the jersey pull for their lone TD against us......F em.
USC: They are really coming on strong. Offense looks great, forget that their defense sucks. Oh, and they will beat Oregon, because Oregon is more of a running team than a passing team, so they will be all over the USC band wagon after this week. Voters will not even care about the one common opponent.

But, in the end........WE CONTROL OUR OWN DESTINY....CANT BITCH ABOUT THAT.

With one loss we control our destiny up until the SEC championship game.

Past that, things get very murky for a one loss SEC champ. Certain chips would need to fall in place. Because if Florida keeps playing like a dried turd in the red zone, beating them could not mean as much. Especially if they drop one and don't show up undefeated.

But things are more positive now than they have been all season.
