It's pretty long, but a good read, IMO. http://espn.go.com/college-football...miles-obsession-beating-alabama-espn-magazine
It was a good article. Miles demeanor and personality is such that he will never be liked by all the fans. His style is eccentric, quirky, and sometimes aloof. I don't think there is a coach who wants to win as bad as him. I think maybe he wanted to beat Alabama too much and he didn't let the game play out as it should. That being said, I would rather have the coach try and fail than fail to try. LSU will be a great football team next year. Its amazing how many top 5 teams LSU has played the past 7 years. I don't know if any school can beat that.
Saban is to Dietzel, as Miles is to McClendon. That's what my dad thinks; he was around fully for all four coaches.
Dietzel, at South Carolina, is the guy that put my buddy's dad, with cancer, in the President's box for buddy's senior season. I have always been a Dietzel fan (Chinese Bandits and all that) but now, more than ever.
That was a really good article that I encourage everyone to read. It's hard to find time to read every little article about LSU but that one was worth it.
This is the article I mentioned last week. Wright thompson is the guy who wrote the really good article on les and his, family lst year. Also one on fleur de lis. He and les love their pizza Thompson was embedded I. The lsu football facility the last few weeks writing the article. He has lsu ties if I recall. I like his writing.
Fantastic read and an even better insight into who he really is as a person. I feel like I've gotten to know our coach a little bit better through the author.
From the same magazine, here's 7,000 words on the Bourbon Street teabagging incident: http://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/page/LSU-Bama-Fans/last-time-met
