Is it coincidence that two ESPN reporters bashed today Les Miles' character??? I think not....And then having to listen to Herbie's radio interview made me sick...These people have no integrity at all and they're gonna be hatin on Miles from now on...I thank Les Miles for standing up to them, it just made me proud that he's the head coach of the the football team of the university that I love. That being said, all of that can go to hell if he goes to Michigan after the NCG.
Once a team from a major conference has a loss it can longer stake a right to play for a National Championship. Those teams can make their case, but must accept their fate. And when two teams are selected, largely by the voters, the eventual champion will be undisputed. No beaten team can say otherwise, it would be absurd. The only truly disputed BCS National Championship was the '04 season, when USC defeated Oklahouma, and when the SEC Champion finished undefeated, and forgotten. Now that season, there was still a game left to be played.
Haha, yeah right. I'll just stop reading her columns....oh wait I never read her column until it was posted on TF.
This is what I e-mailed Tim Koewn about not calling it a National Championship this year: Tim Keown, Reading your ignorant post you call an "article" about the National Championship not being a real thing has got me wondering... Which team are you "homer-ing" for? Let me guess, Notre Dame? No wait...University of South California? I see your from California so this must be it! Now, it is quite obvious that the team you root for on Saturdays had not made the National Championship Game (and yes, despite the "little" effect you think you have on people as an ESPN writer, everyone will still call it that). Naturally, like any flustered fan would do, they whine, they debate, they cry BLASPHEMY! This is usually standard protocol in any college fan's repertoire but you, sir, take it to a new level. Perhaps you will remember an article you wrote titled "THE TIME IS NOW" on March 27th, 2005. I'll link it for you in case you have forgotten: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4155/is_20050327/ai_n13477737/pg_1 I'd like to draw your attention the first paragraph you wrote down: "They're college kids, and that needs to be understood up front. It's a fact that gets bypassed sometimes, amid the intensity of the cameras and the severity of the critics and the insincerity of the money-grubbers." You have become a hypocrite. You have sold yourself off as one of those "critics" and "money-grubbers." These are kids you are writing about. You have stooped as low as disregarding any effort the KIDS at OSU and LSU have done to reach the National Championship game and for what? An article on ESPN.com? I guess it would be easy for you to disregard their hard work. You sit in an air-conditioned office typing away while they practice to give entertainment on Saturday's and work for their dream of the National Championship. Maybe you've lost that spark to have a dream, these kids haven't and I'll be damned if you take away theirs.
Oh God, I didnt realize this was written by this ___. This girl would figure out a way to play the race card if two Kenyans were running a sprint against each other. After about 30 straight times on TV where she did that I decided to stop listening to her worthless, hookerish opinions. Didnt read the article so I don't know if it mentions it but her homer ass should be pointed out as she is from Detroit, and a Michigan State alumna.
And if it hasn't changed, I'm fairly certain in Louisiana it's "Defamation of character" and VERY hard to prove. No "Libel" here. Maybe some attorneys can clarify. The talk about our momma here and we just pistol whip 'em, court takes too long.
