That may be what the employees are supposed to do but a $100 bill will get you any info you want from a low paid hotel clerk.
I still don't understand how giving out her room number made this happen. Dude could have camped out and figured out where she was staying and could have done the same thing. The hotel isn't even operated by Marriott I wouldn't think. I doubt they employed the hotel employee who did this. Why should they pay $75 million?
In the words of Louisa May Alcott, "I should have been a great many things, Mr. Mayor". As if.....I think you do.
A) Nothing to do then with whether they are intelligent or low-rent employees.....anyone can take a Benjamin. B) That's why the hotel is liable, thus the large request for settlement.
If a dog was a cat, then it would meow.....come on....he didn't camp out. He did this on 3 occasions with the assistance of hotel employees. "A man named Michael David Barrett had recorded Andrews while staying in adjacent hotel rooms at both the Nashville Marriott and a Radisson in Milwaukee...... The defendants are The Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University, the hotel’s owner West End Hotel Partners, the management company Windsor Capital Group......" I will say it again....people seek excessive damages for several reasons and it's likely she will collect only a small fraction of the amount even if she prevails. In her case, she initially dropped her claim for damages associated with loss of income but is pursuing the emotional damage and from that standpoint her case is strong. That video is never going to go away. However, the Marriott, along with most other major hotel chains are probably already conducting training on situations regarding guest privacy. The money is meant to be punitive and to extract changes in business is conducted.
Well I think they got rid of the peep holes that you can see through from the hallway. Thats a start.
I initially read an article saying she was suing marriott. Apparently, she's suing that one particular marriott. So at least she's suing the right person.
The right person is the guy who videoed her but he has no money to sue for. If EA ever collects anything it will be the hotel's insurance company paying her.
You can't give out hotel numbers. Especially to female celebrities' rooms. The hotel is at fault but $75 million is insane.
