BOT So I saw poor lil Erin turning on the water works this morning. Give me a break, this is not the end of the world, so people saw her naked, BFD. Permanent emotional scars? Please. Put your makeup on and go to work.
It is kinda messed up that ESPN made her do a public interview about it before she could go back to work. That's more offensive to me than anything the hotel proprietor actually did (not counting the hotel worker who put the guy in the room next to her.)
Sorry in advance for playing the female card but you just won't ever get it. Men revel in being nekked, women not so much, particularly in public and most specifically without their permission! Her facking privacy was violated! She was stalked. There will never again be a moment in her life where she feels completely secure. Every time she enters a motel room, her behavior will be different. She has to live with the thought that scummy, nasty, pervs are whacking off to her video on a daily basis. This is not a comforting thought, nor is it something she can just "get over". Shame is one of the strongest human emotions. And yes, she's going to cry. This entire situation has occurred outside of her control and she is a very control-oriented person. Testifying is her first opportunity to really defend herself or speak up on her own behalf. Lots of pent up emotion there. More than messed up and when you realize why they forced her to do it, it's easy to understand all the emotion. The idiot perv who filmed her had not been arrested and there were claims that she had orchestrated the whole thing for publicity. ESPiN wanted her to say publicly that it was in fact a crime and not a scandal. Good Lord. They are disgusting. Even more disgusting when you see they wanted her to go on GMA which is a Disney affiliate as is ESPiN. Sick. "It's always there. It's always on my back," she said. "I wanted to be the girl next door who loved sports, and now I'm the girl with a hotel scandal. ... It's on the Internet now. ... It's going to be on the Internet until I die."
Perhaps not. I just do not see how this is such a big deal. The key thing you have there is "out of her control" yeah yeah I get it, her privacy was violated. Sorry, get over it and move on. They didn't catch her doing something illegal, she wasn't shoving things in her ass or anything that she should be ashamed of. People saw her naked, in a boring, grainy video. Just not a big deal at all. As for her "thinking" about pervs whacking off to her video I'd say 1st, those are some twisted dudes because that video is just as I said, boring. Nothing at all exciting about it and 2nd she shouldn't think about it. Gotta get past this type of stuff, hanging on to shit in the past will just complicate your future. I'd give her a couple million and send her on her way.
I admit after watching her testimony I feel her......at first I thought it was a perfectly calculated stunt, and a sliver of my conspiracy theory soul thinks it still might be, the video was filmed almost too perfect through a tiny peephole for her to not be involved and it seems like I remember reading somewhere people who knew her best at ESPN even thought she was in on it. However, after watching her testimony, there's a chance I'm wrong.....pretty convincing. Tough times for her if she wasn't in on it and had to deal with all this shit surrounding it. I still think 75m is outrageous though, murder victims families get far less than that. Also, ESPN is apparently just another immoral cash cow like the NFL.
Clearly. You aren't a female. It IS a big deal. It would be great if it were that simple. I'm sure she'll improve over time but it will never go away completely. Allegedly, the guy who did this got the idea after seeing a hotel employee replacing a peephole at a hotel. The room in this case was the only one around a corner and he was in the hall for quite a while without anyone seeing him. I've been defending her but yes, I think her testimony came across as the real deal. No phony tears and she could clearly go back to the moment she realized and the horror in her voice when re-telling the conversation she had with her dad. The amount is really about punishing the hotel for compromising her security and to get them/others to change the way they do business. It's a typical ante amount in a civil case of this magnitude. Lawyers always ask for more than they think they'll get.
All the Korean ladies at my corner rub and tug have seen me naked a ton of times. I don't cry about it
