If it makes you feel better to flame the very few of us that have a glaring problem with the written word so be it. I will still enjoy my moments on the forum doing the best I can to express myself the best that I can. At 58 there is little I can do to over come a lifetime of not being able to spell. It started in the first grade and never stopped. The fact that some one in the 6th grade can out spell me has not stopped me in life. My wife is a English major (St. Joe and LSU) and is amazed at my ability not to be able to spell the very basic words. In my world I live with it and always enjoy seeing others take glee with my problem. a big what ever!!!
The correct spelling for this is "I had want" as in "I had want to play for the Tigers when I was younger." :miles:
It is to me. One learns to spell. A good speller can look at a misspelled word and know it's not right. That's a gift. But, an intelligent person will not use "looser" for loser, etc. That's just dumb.
To me dumb is someone who realizes they have a problem, yet decides to "just live with it". Would you have a problem with someone who couldn't do common tasks at your job, and instead of them trying to get better at it...they just decided to "live with it"? That's what's wrong right there...we have made mediocre the new excellent. We have put it on cruise control in lethargy lane. I'm gonna continue to try to better myself in any way possible. And I don't get childish when it comes to constructive criticism...it is what makes me a better person. Flattery will ruin a man, criticism will save him. PS - I understand that ALL OF US will botch a few words here and there...but I was talking about a RASH of common 3rd grade spelling errors that will make the sports world that may read this forum think we are uneducated blow hards. Just my 2 pennies...you can pick them up and put them in your pocket, or walk by them. Somebody is picking up what I am putting down I am sure.
