Sad part is that schools/teachers do WAY more now than they did then. Parents, I tell ya- they're a complete joke in the overall scope of this argument. Kids with parents who give a shyt still do well. If education isn't important at home...
I'd love to do a random sampling of people to see how many know the difference between "your" and "you're", "their", "there" and "they're". Some personal favorites of mine, that I've heard even from college educated friends, is "I had went", or "They went to the store to get they groceries." And sad to say, you can't spellcheck stupid.
Absolutely! If I got in trouble at school, I got in trouble at home. Now if kids get in trouble at school, the parents come chew the teachers out. It still isn't baseball season yet?
