I KNOW this doesn't have anything to with who OUR OC will be next year. I also know that I may be writing this because I am BORED, but is there any way that we can add spell check to the forum? I am getting a bad feeling of how visiting members and other fans are perceiving our fanbase by the recent epidemic of spelling miscues. I understand if you can't spell big words like "exasperate", or "philanthropist"...but words like "know", "our", and "bored"??? Can we especially fix miscues in the thread titles? While I am "on one"....punctuation is a good thing as well. :wave: PS - IS IT BASEBALL SEASON YET!!!!!???????:tigbas:
Know, because spell check would not be able to tell if you were board or if you're really bored. no what I mean?
The misspellings on this bored gets rediculous at times. Lots of loosers around here. The grammer ain't much better, neither.
Text-speak is killing our language. I've even read that there is a push by some educators to let kids spell words phonetically instead of the way the dictionary indicates. As an English major, it saddens me. Maybe we should just go back to drawing pictures.

Wow, I have never even thought about how something so technologically advanced is "dumbing" down our society. Yet another reason to keep cell phones out of the hands of children and teens.... And if the second part of the first statement is true well..... I don't know what to say....
If I'm remembering the article right, it's only a very small minority of teachers who would like to move to teaching that type of spelling. The majority of educators are against it, thank goodness. But I'd be surprised if the idea just went away. And if we ever have to go back to drawing pictures, I'm screwed. I can't even draw stick people right. No one would have a clue as to what I'm trying to say.
