A week ago nobody was sure we could beat the #18 team in the country. After barely escaping with a win, now a lot of fans believe we will beat UF.... Even considering the UGA game, our offense has not been good enough to score the points we'll need against UF. I like our defense & think we'll be able to hold UF's offense in check, but only if our own offense can sustain drives & keep the ball out of their hands - not to mention actually get something out of those drives. We will need, BY FAR, the best offensive performance of the season to beat Florida. I know this team is capable of it. The talent & all the pieces are there, but with NCAA-limited practice time & one week to prepare, I don't see it all coming together this weekend. I expect a great game, but I think UF's defense will be a bit too strong for us at this point in the season. With a bye week after this game, I'm hopeful our offense comes around for the rest of the season & we manage to get another shot at UF in the SECCG.
Plenty have been drinkin from the purple pitcher of parso. Dude you are letting alot of folks down with these negative posts.
How about some discussion? Someone tell me why I'm wrong... Personally, I'm not that concerned. I want a great game with an amazing atmosphere. I feel confident we'll have that much. And if we lose, it's fine. We still control our own destiny as far as the SECCG is concerned.
CParso, It's Monday bro. I'm still pumped from our win over Georgia. Give me another day or two and I'll be a little more realistic about Florida. But make no mistake, we realize how good Florida is. I also think we understand how good we CAN BE. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
OK CParso, I'll tell you why I believe we can beat Florida: 1.) it's going to be a Saturday night in Death Valley 2.) Did you see that LSU team in the Peach Bowl? We haven't seen that team yet, but we will. 3.) We have big time players too- Charles Scott, JoJo Lafell and Tolliver on offense. Peterson, CJones, Riley, etc on defense. Jasper has hit a FG from 52 yards out. T. Holliday has been returning kicks pretty well lately, AND, we had a 93 yard punt return for a TD vs Miss St 4.) We don't even know who their starting QB is going to be 5.) We have a little momentum 6.) Our guys have shown a will to win :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
I'm not expecting LSU to beat Florida, either. But it could happen. CParso has listed the logical reasons why I don't expect it. Here are the logical reasons why it could happen. 1. Tebow is more than just a skill player and a talented QB. He leads the team in every way and they have confidence just because he's on the field. So if he isn't on the field, they'll be less sure of themselves. And that includes the coaching staff. Lack of confidence makes a team vulnerable. 2. It's the biggest game of the season, at night, in Tiger Stadium. If LSU keeps the game close, the fans will play a huge role. 3. LSU has improved (in the aggregate) over the course of the season. And the team was very close to breaking it open against Georgia in the first half. It is very possible that LSU is peaking at the right time. Which is exactly what CParso says they'll need to beat Florida. And I agree. And it could happen. I still don't expect LSU to win this one. But I think they can.
