Thanks, I can go with that. It sounds like Charles and Gordy are as confused as all of the fans are. Tigers have so many weapons and dont know how to use them. I know its a coaching problem ( I dont know if its Miles or Crowton or both)

Great post. I am glad to see I am not the only one who feels the same way I do. Booing Lee is the last thing this kids needs. I felt so bad for him. The passes kept getting longer and longer. It was if the coaches were trying to see how far they could push Lee over the edge until he was ready to hang himself. I was ashamed to be an LSU fan tonight. I have to agree play calling is dumb. The plays don't match the talent. We have all this talent but it doesn't mesh together as a team and the plays don't fit the strengths of our players. Where is the fire? Walking and half speed has to stop. :po:

Here is my question then: If this isn't Crowton's offense, what is he doing? What's he getting paid for? I don't know if I buy all of this stuff. We've been hearing that for a few years now. Is he just picking up a check?

Most coaches won't stay in a place if they're constantly not able to do the things that they are getting paid to do. You know, the things they feel they know how to do in a superior way to anyone else. It just doesn't make a lot of sense.

By the way, as to the topic of the thread...I'm not embarrassed by anything that happened. I'll take that 8-2 record any day. We didn't lose and that's the most important thing. But I do wish a lot of things wouldn't have happened. That's life though. The coaching was really bad though.

Yes, I do suck at my job compared to Crowton to his job. So do the rest of you. Otherwise, we wouldn't be posting here.

Dan, you are well-known as a joke here. You're a ULL fan and you get furious that we don't call ULL "the Univ. of Louisiana" and you are ashamed of all the ULL grads that have USL diplomas.

See Gus Malzahn at Arkansas. Nutt wanted to run Nutt's offense and not Malzahn's. He very quickly left Arkansas.

People have been talking about Miles holding Crowton back for 3 years. People talked about Saban holding Fisher back too.

I like to compare 2009 Crowton to the 2007/2008 Saints O. The Saints commentators loved to say that they got "too cute" with the playcalling. Throwing it on 4th and inches, running a reverse at the 5 yard line, or just taking the ball out of Brees' hands at the wrong times.

We are seeing a lot of that now. If we ran well out of the I-formation to get a 2nd and 1, usually you will see the offense set up in the shotgun the next play. Using skill players more as decoys than using their skills.

It seems like this offense cannot run a screen pass correctly to save its life. I don't know what the problem is there (though they may have done it, but it is not something that is sticking out in my mind).

Yeah, posts like this just make us more stupid. If we were in the highest % of the US at our jobs, like the LSU coaches, we would not have to post here. And if anybody knew anything about football vis-a-vis the LSU football coaches, they would be pursuing a career as football coaches, rather than posting on a place like here where no football coaches come to.

John, you have yet to post anything productive. You rarely do. All you keep saying that is that "They are getting paid for it, so they must be doing a good job." So EVERYONE in the country who are very well paid are the best in their fields? No one gets to the top and fails?

If Crowton is doing an EXCELLENT job (because he is being paid well, so be MUST BE, right?), then please give me a rational reason for our offense being the 105th best offense in the nation.

There are essentially three options here: talent, execution, or coaching.
