Good news: Crowton should be gone after this year. He proved today what he was capable of: zero QB development. Lee has the tools. He does. However, he is suffering exactly what Jefferson suffered from: lack of development during the year. Last year, Jefferson never saw the 1st-team in practice, and almost never saw the field. He came in and completed about 46% of his passes. Lee is suffering from the same thing, except worse. In addition to having nothing pushing him forward, he has 60000 people booing him every time he throws an incompletion. That is impossible for any 20 year old to overcome. He deserves better than what he is being given here at LSU. As bad as the playcalling was for the Florida game, tonight was WAY worse. Crowton called plays as if Jefferson were at QB. Lee is not Jefferson. Lee does not pass well out of I-tight. When Tech shows an 8-man blitz and the current play calls for a 3-step drop, you need to change the play. Crowton does not give our QBs the authority to change the play at the line, so you need to step in, or he will be throwing the ball away avoiding a sack. Seriously, what does booing accomplish? Does anyone think Lee will ever get BETTER because of it? I am afraid this team packed it in just like they did last year. They didn't care tonight. I think their season is over with the Alabama loss (again). Receivers weren't finishing their routes, the OL (specifically Ciron Black) went back to blocking only 50% of the time. This is completely on the coaches' shoulders. Expect big changes if we finish with two straight losses again. Motivation is a big part of coaching, and it is not happening.
Great overall picture of our situation. I have struggled to relay my message. I will admit but you said it well. The only thing I disagree with is I thought number 70 was the only lineman that was finishing Certainly in the second half. He looked like he took it personal
Listening to some dumb red neck with a stereotypical hick accent on LSU radio right now saying Crowton needs to go... the LSU radio announcers were politely like 'uh, yeah, thanks, idiot' and politely hung up on him... they then said if Crowton does leave to take a head coach job, "it would hurt to lose him."
Now they are saying to a less-stupid-sounding caller that "We like Gary Crowton," although they are pointing out that he has been less than perfect this year.
It always turns personal. Most every post on this forum is saying pretty much the same thing. FYI. You have no idea what anyone does for a living so hold the comments. There is no reason for It.
