Does anyone find it ironic that here in the states, anyone who opposes this administration is torn down by them and the media for expressing their opinion of the government and the way it's being run, but when it comes to what's happening in Egypt the administration and media are all on the side of the people who are essentially doing the same thing, only on a larger scale?

I mean sure, the situation is different but they are making their voices heard by protesting, and damned if it didn't work (until he changes his mind again).

I don't know if I agree with that, because here in South, it's almost "the cool thing to do" hating this administration.

Don't look now, but you just kind of proved my point.

It would be like me saying that all people that are pro-legalization are a bunch of pot-smoking druggies that can't function in life other than to smoke weed, eat junk food, and push it off on children, when we both know that isn't so.

Mainly because he comes out making these statements in a definitive fashion only to realize later that he was wrong about what was really going on at the time.

What's really sad is that - in my opinion - he is trying to ride this revolt into garnering some political momentum for himself. Which is naive on his part and dangerous for America to be perceived as uninformed and un-influential in major transformations like this in the most unstable region in the world.

This is a good read that came out today...

Our own CIA Director also got egg on his face when he had to admit that he got it wrong - and that he got bad intel by reading "press reports" rather than relying on the official reports from his own CIA Intelligence officials who are suppose to know what the hell is going over there in the first place.

So yeah clueless is a pretty good description of how this Administration looks to the US and the rest of the world right now.

    Give me an example.

How? What should he have done . . .nothing? All foreign policy has ramifications at home. What exactly did he say that turns a foreign policy statement into a domestic political ploy?

And who is more informed or influential? Nobody. Look, events changed fast over there and different parts of the Egyptian government didn't know what was going on. How the hell is US intelligence supposed to have omniscient premonition when spontaneous events are happening? How naive can you get?
