The way I look at it is Coach O put us in a position to win this game. Having all night to think about this and this isn't on our head coach. If Donte Jackson wouldn't have fumbled on the kickoff we could have had the opportunity to tie that game with a field goal. Guice wouldn't have fumbled the ball inside 5 we could have gone up 14-3 before half. Too many missed opportunities.
Agreed but forget about Gruden, he's going nowhere. We're not getting Herman and I think Jimbo is not a fit either. I think O is our best shot and with the right OC and firing Grimes he can get this thing going. There really is no other Head coach that we realistically can hire that I'm excited about.
You and lsuilike are into the "swirling" excuses for Herman blowing games at traditional powerhouses Navy and SMU. There appears to be no such excuses for the "swirling" O has to endure. O would have destroyed both Navy and SMU and would have beat both Wisc and Aub and beat Fla for not 5 bonehead plays but by Jackson, Guice and Growden.
I never used the word "swirling" or made any excuses for anything. But you, on the other hand, believe in shoulda, coulda, woulda. I simply stated what Herman has accomplished this year in answer to your question. And yes they lost to bad teams, but name me one coach who hasn't lost to bad teams? And you say O "woulda" destroyed Navy and SMU. Is that with LSU talent or Houston talent?
