Herman beat Louisville and Oklahoma, both games being blowouts. And with FAR less talent than what LSU has. And both teams in the top 10.

We lost yesterday in the facsion folks wanted O to coach. Let the coordinators coach and not meddle with the game plan. The game plan was stout, execution was poor. Adjustments were made, execution was poor. The only real coaching failure was catering to the idea that Fornette can make a splash in quite possibly, his last game in TS. There was only a handfull of play calls that were questionable, but for the most part, it was an awesome gameplan with adjustments made to stage a win.

Kids played like they were assured a win and executed poorly when it counted the most. There is a lot of positive that can be taken from this game that should be credited to the staff while there is little that can taken away.

There certaily are some coaches that need to be fired that should have been gone by Miles hand. Their perspective play has cost the team throughout the season. O can take some credit for this one, both good and bad, but the loss is not his to bare alone. Sure he is 0-2 on scale games, but he lost them trying to win as apposed to trying not to lose. Doing that with what he inherited should be a credit, not a slight. Saban takes over this team under the same circumstances and likely gets the same results. I think a lot of folks are grading O the wrong way. He has out coached Miles despite the losses and some folks are missing that by simply looking at W/L's. Damn, O actually loses better than Miles wins...

I don't know if he should be our next HC, I am not qualified to make that distinction, but I have seen enough to know he needs a season with a staff of his chosing to appreciate a qualified appraisal. I would certainly give him that chance before making a desperate choice because the clock is running down. We can't land on our short list, O needs a season to right this thing and buy us time for the right hire or earn the gig himself.

Good post, except we can't hire him for a year. It would be a four year deal because of recruiting. It's now a big risk to stick with Eaux because all of his wins have been against lesser teams and the two stout opponents he's faced we've lost. If Eaux pulls a Miles next year, the program suffers and Alleva is axed.

    My opinion is this.

Texas gets herman so forget about him.

Jimbo Fisher is to me past his prime and just doesn't have the intangables now. A younger jimbo Fisher before fla. state would have been the time.

He may be too old now too but I would like john gruden. But I think LSU fans may have to deal with the fact that Orgeron is the best fit for 3 or 4 years.

With a new proven offensive co-ordinator. And a qb that can pass the ball. Etling is not sec caliber and we need to run and pass at a high level.

Yeah, I wasn't implying O to be hired, but extended in the role to accompany the right hire and/or further develop his own interest. Maybe not the best approach, but neither is committing to hiring an even bigger mistake because no one is left worth a look.

The point of my post was that I believe that O is being poorly evaluated and overlooked when he is actually surpassing expectations despite the losses

Don't know about that. I still think eaux is a good option you just have to almost blow up the coaching staff on the offensive side of the ball in addition to special teams coach change.

I do agree that eaux might get the job more of a fall back but again I don't think he is a horrible option.

You might be right on the first two. The third will never happen. Fans need to give up on gruden going to a college program. He's not giving up the gig he has right now.

Have to agree and I'll repeat what I said in another thread. I get holding the coach accountable when the execution is not there, but I have no problem with the coaching decisions I saw yesterday. The mistakes in execution led to a 20-point swing even before the final drive. We should have been in victory flop formation by then, not scrambling for a last second win.

Eaux is being evaluated on his full resume - he wouldn't even be in the discussion if he weren't in place to take the interim spot.

The argument that Miles would have done the same as Eaux is very plausible.

A decision will be made and I can't imagine it will be Eaux. Not choosing Eaux is an easily defended position at this point. Maybe Eaux could have great success, bUt the possibility that he would fail is also an option. Add to it that we were mentally checked out for the UF game, the biggest game to date; Eaux didn't get R done on the field; like 5 times in the red zone didn't get R done.
