So Edwin Alexander was cleared by the clearinghouse but Andre Anthony wasn't. What's the story @bhelmLSU is this a big loss?
Alexander was the most likely to contribute early IMO. Miles said a week ago that getting Anthony eligible may require an NCAA appeal by LSU. Sounds like his situation may take a while. I wouldn't think they are counting on him contributing this season. EDIT: Well I guess this clears it up some https://www.seccountry.com/team/star-lsu-recruit-andre-anthony-taking-academic-redshirt
His talents make him worth the gamble. I just hope it doesn't get yto the point where the team depends on him and the he pulls some stupid stunt and gets kicked off in late season
That's what scares me. Was it Ott and Hannagriff that were talking about this the other day? Can't remember.
Both. They do the 11-1 show together. They think the coaching staff was divided about giving Valentine another chance
I think of it differently...his main issue was always in the classroom and him not taking care of business cost him big time and everyone on the team knows it. Only a liability if he is having issues showing up for classes and others on the team follow suit. However, he knows it is one strike and out and it is just another lesson learned for the rest of the team if he doesn't make it work this time. If it works out in the classroom for just one year (one and done most likely) then he could really help the Dline. I have heard guys are already making sure to put in the work knowing Valentine isn't far behind in joining the depth chart. They saw what he did in practice when he was here and know he may be the biggest disrupter on the line. Ed O is the one who is sticking his neck out the futhest and the rest of the staff backed him.
