We have already met the quota on cajuns. Thanks anyway. Just kidding, Welcome to the board. And I tend to agree with you. Even though I don't want too.

Welcome to the board Kajun. Mine will definitely change if anything about RP changes in the future. I noted it at the bottom, but feel as if he will be here. Our schedule is tough, but Auburn has a new offense and QB. That is why I said they could move up if they are clicking, especially since the game is in Auburn.

Thanks for the welcome. Our talent level is on par with the rest of top teams in the league. But we won some nail biters last year and lost a couple too. QB is such an imporant position. The last redshirt or true freshman QB that had a stellar year for LSU was Tommy Hodson. If Lee or Jefferson is called upon to lead the defending champs next year, they will have a lot of pressure on them. We'll definately have to stay behind them through thick and thin.:helmet:

    For the East:

    1) Florida (55% to win division) -- their offense will be too sick.
    2) UGA (35% to win) -- great defense, more than solid team
    3) Tennessee (7% to win) -- unpredictable team(as usual)
    4) USC (2%to win) -- not that great
    5) Kentucky (0.8% to win) -- well coached; could overachieve
    6) Vandy (0.2% to win) -- Vandy: el oh el

    West:

    1) LSU (45% to win) -- we know us; offense will be very good
    2) Auburn (40% to win) -- solid as always; pain in the ass
    3) Alabama (12% to win) -- very talented, though young
    4) MS State (2% to win) -- solid team
    5) Arkansas (1% to win) -- with DM gone, Petrino should struggle
    6) Ole Miss (no chance) -- el oh el

This assumes Perrilloux plays. If he doesn't knock us down to 30% and bump up AU and UA some.

The team that wins the East takes the SECCG imo, and likely the NC. I think we have at least 6 bowl teams there, likely more. SEC will again be the strongest conference, though the PAC10 is tough.

I find it interesting that Bama fans are looking 09 -- I think that could be our year. We should have an absolutely SICK offense that year, esp if Perrilloux is still with the team. Still, all this stuff is in flux and predicting what will happen is virtually impossible -- but in my eyes the future is very bright for LSU football (I see us being mush better in 09 than 08).

    WEST
    1. Auburn -- They beat us at home with this year's team.
    2. LSU -- Tougher schedule at Auburn/Florida and playing UGA
    3. Arkansas -- Petrino wins some he shouldn't.
    4. Alabama -- Beats Tulane but stays solidly in the middle of the pack.
    5. Ole Miss -- I think they have more talent than their record.
    6. Miss State -- Mirage last year folds.

    EAST
    1. Georgia -- Very talented on offense. Pretty good D.
    2. Florida -- must find a defense (agree with Red)
    3. Tennessee -- Good but not great at anything.
    4. South Carolina -- Not enough talent for SEC.
    5. Kentucky -- Woodson gone.
    6. Vanderbilt -- God bless 'em (Agree with Red)

Are we the only team in the West that gets to play both Florida and Georgia next year and then have to face one of them again if we win the West? With our schedule next year we could go undefeated and loose the SECCG and still make the BCSCG. Seriously, we could. And then maybe that impossible scenario of an all SEC BCSCG might could happen. Of course some other teams would have to loose like this past year. But then again I don't think anyone would want to see the same team play 3 times in a season, or would they? I think a 3rd Florida/Georgia vs LSU BCSCG would be more exciting then an LSU/Florida/Georgia vs Ohio State BCSCG.

I think UGA slips up and losses at least 2 games, although they still may win the SEC.

I'll be following Florida's spring practices to see how their defense shapes up. If their defense improves, they will win the East.

No other team in the East is on their level next year.

As for the West, that's a tough call. I think Bama will be better and compete for the West, but depth is going to get them. Auburn is going to be pretty good, but not great. LSU's season depends on our CB play & Perrilloux being a leader. I was feeling pretty good about LSU's chances because I thought Perrilloux was going to shape up, but based on him pushing the limits with skipping practices and meetings, I just don't see him being a good enough leader at this point in time for us to win the West (maybe my feeling will change if he goes all Spring & Summer with no more issues). So right now, I'm picking Auburn for the West.

Miss St, Ole Miss, and Arkansas will all be dangerous teams - dangerous enough to knock off a top team, but not good enough to win the West.

Based on their defense alone, I'm leaning that way as well.
