I think both Reed and Seastrunk will be 'early' commits. houtiger, you do make a good point -- sometimes it's useful to throw out the high and the low.. and that's where this class is most dangerous.. the middle. We need to continue to take a QB every year IMO and get the kind of depth USC has had recently at QB. That's the key I think.. and we had that type of depth until the Perriloux fiasco.
While it is great to be deep at QB today's recruits are often looking for playing time. When you snag a 5 star QB like Ryan P. it is hard to get a quality QB the next year because they assume that they will be sitting on the bench until he leaves. USC is somewhat of an exception to the rule in this regard.
I think we should aim for QBs like Chris Garrett. Perhaps take 2 QBs every other year, and redshirt one of them. That would be my tactic at least.
Tough to find guys like Garrett. He was a steal - completely under rated and in my opinion under recruited. I don't think that happens all that often. LSU is set for QB for awhile. I haven't seen next year's crop, but even if it's a bust, we have a strong stable of young guns right now - almost too many guys ready to play. Nice problem to have.
any idea of how legitiment Dixon's(5* S) interest in LSU is? update on Simon from scout says he doesn't mind which side of the ball he's on. i wouldn't mind the coaches taking him as another WR and finishing off with Reed. then if Dixon is truly interested take him as the 2nd S. would help with Lache and add another 5*
