Mike Davis moved into the top 10 of the Scout Midlands 200. Doubt that translates into a 5* but it moves him closer. How close will be determined once the Scout Updated Rankings are released later this week or early next week. Scout.com: Midlands Top 200 for the Class of 2010
My projections are purely based on rivals. Scout is a great site, but I don't really put much stock in their rankings.
I put stock in them. I thought their LA rankings were better overall compared to Rivals. I thought they were about even in hits and misses last year and the 2nd release. Rivals overall are better right now and I will hold off my judgement until Scout's new rankings are released.
This is the most interesting thread on TF from now until Feb. We know who's committed, all the excitement is for the last 6 or 7 commits. It will be interesting. Looks like we're on track for a top 5 class.
In the next week or so, I will project final rivals rankings for what appears to be the top 5-6 teams based on most likely finish for each. Will be a bit surprised if LSU doesn't end up in the top 3 in those projections.
With 22 commitments already & holding two scholarships for Reed & Seastrunk LSU is pretty much finished it seems? I know they can sign only 25 elgible players per year unless the player is elgible to enter school early(am I right on that). Who is out there that is able to enter school early that we are still recruiting?
I'm guessing that we and everyone else are holding 3-5 slots for top kids that want to drag the process out, maybe to signing week or day. So if we get a little optimistic and say we get Reed and Seastrunk, I'm guessing we don't move up in the rankings, because everyone else will be picking up some heavy hitters late in the game? I also almost think that we ought to just add the 5* players to the 4* count and not have 5*, since it is so subjective. One month a kid is a 4, and next month the same kid is a 5, and some team moves up in the rankings? I'd look at it like LSU has 19 4* and just be happy.
